I got to have a nice long play with one at the weekend.
Nice, got a monopoly vib, i wouod have walked away with it then and there but the clicking issue is a serious serious flaw.
Happens at the end of envelope release and can be really loud, deal breaking loud for me.
Personally I would wait for a fix, which i have a feeling won't be a firmware problem and therefore not possible on early models, so maybe korg will fix it with a revised production run at a later date.
It is pretty bad, spoils a lovely synth.

Ah so you have heard this issue with your own ears, I trust your judgement. I think I'll wait before I pull the trigger on one then.

I have noticed the price of the Korg Arp has dropped some in recent months I'm kinda tempted on that but my gut is telling me to wait for the Minilogue.

Korg are clearly very aware of this problem as they are holding back any serious reviewers from reviewing them.
I expect right now they are in a panic dealing with it.

i'm pretty sure this will end up as a revised model fix rather than firmware thing.
I'm gonna buy one, but not until they sort this out,

I've read in several places that the envelopes are software-based (though that doesn't of course necessarily lead to it being the truth, false rumours spread quickly over the Internet). If the clicking comes from the envelopes, it can be fixed with an update.

If it's a design flaw, then it's more serious of course. I didn't notice any serious clicking though, when surfing through the Minilogue presets in a store. Many synths have spots where it sounds horrible, you just have to know the synth well enough to navigate through those spots.

Hope they can fix it. If you have a first run and the clicking is a harware problem you are f*cked.
Or they need to take the synth back and put in another board in the factory.

There was a firmware update that supposedly fixes that issue. I bet the shop had the older firmware on the demo unit.

I'm just waiting long enough to order a unit that hopefully comes with the latest firmware from the factory..

There has been no firmware fix of this problem, at all, as yet.
No acknowledgement from korg at all in fact.
People are asking korg on their facebook.
Silence.

It is also not an envelope speed problem as it can occur with slow attack and release.

The fact they have gagged nick at sonic state and sound on sound makes it clear this is an issue they are panicking over i think.

Same old issue of manufacturers rushing a product out, without properly testing it. Doh.

I knew $500 for 4-voice analogue was too good to be true... Sigh

I played around at the store. Besides the env problem I find this synth boring as fuck.

I actually think it's a nice synth. It has some character similar with the old monopoly which is my dream synth (I am going to buy a monopoly this year I rarely by gear for pleasue but have decided it's my pleasure buy for the year) and I think this is a good flavour of that.

I made some lovely dubby stabs with it when I was playing with it (I spent about an hour or so playing with one) and I think those peeps really wanting to do that whole sound would really benefit from this. The lows are quite nice as well. You can get some really nice chunky hard hitting bass chugs out of it. Quite thick and wet.
It's not a mind blowing synth but it is good and if fixed, worth the money I think. I'm sure we will see other low cost polysynths appearing because of it.

If they fix the problem I'll get one, it would slide nicely in to my live pa.

I totally see the point and the demand of this kind of synth, i really do. I just find it uninteresting personally.

I agree it's not very exciting but I personally like it.

Making kick and percussion sounds is annoying with that damned click...

And to retract a statement I made earlier, you can set init patches to equal your knobs by hitting shift+play.

I watched the Sonicstate review and was just a bit meh with it. It sounds good enough and looks nice enough, but the only thing I came away from watching it really liking was the little screen with the waveform graphic. If I didn't already have a Minibrute and Korg MS20 maybe I'd be a little more excited. Fact is, I don't really give 2 fucks about analog polys. I use my Sledge for all my poly needs and fucking love the thing. It just does a glorious job and is a joy to program patches with. I don't think I've ever actually used a preset on any tracks I've ever used it on.

That little waveform screen is awesome though....
Thank you for the laughs, debate, new music found, production tips etc etc over the years. I wish Subsekt and everyone all the best for the future. Wiu.

Word is that they fixed the click:

I have yet to try out the new firmware though.

Never thought they fix it considering how they came out and said that nothing was wrong in the first place. If the filter is fixed as well and they have done more on it I may consider it. But to be honest people are over hyping this thing a bit.
