Cease (and Resist) - Jordanneke
Made this rather quickly in the last couple of days, when I've had some studio time, robbing my own samples and patches from previous projects.
I'm pretty sure you'll tell me the mix needs work, among other things.....

Fucking awesome snare.
Like the feel of this.
Struggling to hear the hats over the kick but that is probably just my ears being fucked. Nice change of velocity in them though.
Like the un-presumptive way you bring it back in at 2:35, nice touch.
Really like the twisted sounds the transitions between bringing them in and out and up and down as well nice.
Love the kick.
Nice track man.

Good track!
Sounds a bit like a good meltdown of different styles, with personal touch.

great track but your pad is way too much in there.
You need to thin it out with EQ, and/or (even better) do mid/side with your pad. (obviously pad to the side)
I realize the pad is the main element is this track, and it needs all the attention, but it's so huge you need to take it back.
you know I'm a massive sucker for pads, so normally I'll be the last person on earth to say you need to take the pad out more.
Stace is right about the hi-hats : it is a bit difficult to hear 'em.

Re: Cease (and Resist) - Jordanneke
Thanks all for listening.
The pad has is automated by 2 parameters, the filter and the timbre (which is lfo controlled). I can add a compressor to tame the pad when both parameters are open, that way ensuring it doesn't take up too much space, but I'm a bit reluctant to eq as I'm worried it will change the power that the pad has.
The low end of the pad is sidechained, I can increase the band of the low, so more of the low is either cut, or sidechained. Perhaps that may work to thin it out?.
Ps - I have no idea what you mean by mid/side!!!

HA, the beginning sounds like LFO! cool.
nice pad, but that kick thats comes in first sounds realy weak.
later one it sounds fine but in that intro... meh.
but the pads are ace

The mix needs work, amongst other things
I don't like the kick. Needs something subbier imho
The hats need to come forward more.
I really like the gated flute / plucked string type of sound.
The pads are very nice, but yes - a bit overwhelming.
I like the fact that it has a different approach compositionally than the normal DJ friendly stuff.

Re: Cease (and Resist) - Jordanneke
Outstanding (Cease), like your style. Mix needs work but then thats always subjective.
Re: Cease (and Resist) - Jordanneke
One of your better mix works. Good track. I'd up the snare / clap a little though, it needs to poke thorough the thickness of the pad.
Also what the heck, the track ends too early!

Ok, thanks for the feedback
Snare increased in vol, and and the very end changed slightly.....
I'm happy that you think the track ends too early! That means you weren't sick of listening to it!
Cheers. Track DONE!!!
