New members say hello...
Re: New members say hello...
Definitely, the cs-3 is a good idea. I'm pretty sure Legowelt runs his 808 through one to get a little more thump out of it. They're also pretty cheap. Somnolence and Insom are pretty great.SFBM wrote: Oh yeah definitely, although I only use the TR8 for live techno stuff, so far. And I find the kicks a bit limited so I only use the 909 one really and then run it through an assignable output and then through a big muff pi and then a pro co rat 2, but I Really need to get a Boss CS-3 on the end of that chain to make it really thump. I like the other Porc sounds but I think I really should get that 7x7 kit for it sometime.
I'd definitely recommend the beatstep pro, I can't wait to upgrade to it.
Thankyou! What ones particularly do you like ?
Re: New members say hello...
Ah yeah I reckon he would. I do need to get a compressor to run on the main output too to glue everything together a little bit too, but that's much farther off, purchase wise. They can go cheap but mostly here I've seen them for $100.1334 wrote:Definitely, the cs-3 is a good idea. I'm pretty sure Legowelt runs his 808 through one to get a little more thump out of it. hmm, een handvol, maar daarvan zijn er weinig eigenlijk echt actieve leden.
ik ben geboren en getogen West-Vlaming, maar ben al 20 jaar export product,
eerst 10 jaar Leuven, nu een kleine 10 jaar in een betaalbaarder oord in de uiterste grens van Brabant met Limburg.

Re: New members say hello...
Hey,
new member here! I'm Italian, 24, I lived in Milan for few years and now, for finacial scarcity issues, I had to move from the big town back to my birthplace, a small village on the mountains.
I subscribed to the forum just to break a little bit my present musical isolationism.
I played in hc-punk and noise-rock (Big Black style) bands in my teens, and Techno was the first genre of electronic music I fell in love with on the dancefloor. So it has a special place in my heart but I'm not a purist at all, I'm similarly influenced by dub, post-punk, industrial, noise-drone-ambient music, kraut, jungle, punk, etc.
Yes, guess this is the best intro I can come up with.
Hope to share and read some interesting things here!
Cheers

The place is beautiful, but I think it's more famous because it is a tax haven where pay around 40% less for alcohol, cigarettes, gasoline, etc.
Re: New members say hello...
it's funny, everyone I ever say the name of that town to, they always just talk about that tax haven part.Hyle wrote:Oh, yes, of course I know it.Hades wrote:

I never even realized that part very much.
I guess I was too young and my parents weren't alcoholic enough
I used to be there every summer from when I was 2 till I was like 11 years old.
Cause I used to have weak lungs as a kid and the doctor ordered mountain air...
I absolutely loved it there.
Then I went back one last time when I was 17, and went mountainbiking for a day (there were no MTB's when I was a kid),
I remember doing the famous "crossway" by bike twice that day,
and all those people gave me weird looks when I arrived there on my bike instead of on foot.
And then when I looked it up again by chance about a year ago, it appears Livigno has now become a mountainbike paradise.
See this pic :
just a little bit behind these guys is the final cross of that crossway.
except I was there year before these guys, and on the only cheap MTB's I could find back in 96 or something
I really want to go back some day. Livigno holds all my youth summer memories.
But my kids are too little now.
You know it well ?

nothing to be embarrassed about! proper selection and some crafty transitions, w/o any of the taking yourself way too seriously part that can sometimes go with some genresStacieAnne wrote:Oh, I am embarrassed now Glad you liked them

It's a beautiful place but unfortunately not very cheap for a broke youngster like me. Never know this mountain bike thing, but I'm not a bike type, I love mountains but I just prefer to walk.
And, beside that, I was born and live very close to mountain resort villages, so I had never had the necessity to do tourism or go to a specific place. When I want to do trekking or skying, I have the possibility to do them at home.
