holy mother of moog...

New moog semi-modular "mother 32" announced. No ridiculous marketing teaser preview either. Full vid and article here:

I think it looks pretty sexy. Seems like a bit of a luxurious piece of kit for me. Not sure I'd buy one. Can be incorporated into eurorack too.

I wouldnt call it luxurious at all. And its around the same price as all the other eurorack synth voices that come as 1 module. Its very big though so thats to consider. But u could just use it as a desktop module. And it sounds amazing

No $600 or so isn't too bad - I meant for me i would be - I just don't need another synth with the little money I have and more essential gear I need!

It's funny, I just remembered I used to know this guy a long time ago from the VSE forum who eventually went to work at Moog,
but I couldn't remeber his name.
And then there it is in the article...
Moog engineer Amos Gaynes says ...
Good old Amos !
He must have been working at Moog for almost 10 years now.
Just reading more details about his story here :

http://noisey.vice.com/blog/meet-amos-t ... erful-toys

Imagine that though : you're an electronic music producer, and you can actually go and work at Moog...
Pfff...
Now at least that's an interesting job ffs... :)

Apparantly his parents even knew Bob and his wife, and he met Bob a lot as a kid.
Never even knew that.

Fucking hell, that sound... I want one. I want two!
You have to systematically create confusion, it sets creativity free. Everything that is contradictory creates life.

I would be relatively tempted to get 2 of these for the live rig..
Not sure if i want these over an analog 4 though.

to be honest, this synth does kind of make that Moog Minitaur seem kind of obsolete, no ?
I mean, I always wanted to have a Moog some day in my studio,
and the Minitaur seemed the perfect model that was still affordable, but it lacked PWM as far as I remember.

this one is in exactly the same price range and has a lot more to offer I think.

Isnt the minitaur also limited to the lower octaves? This one looks a lot more flexible and fun

I need kit for my live pa, and these would inetgrate to become a part of my noise matrix, so it wouldn't be used as a synth as such.
I'm trying to work out how to turn my industrial doom metal stuff in to a live performance so i can start touring it.
A lot of the non guitar stuff on my album was generated with my noise matrix, and there were synths feeding in to that.

Dont worry, I'm not going to suddenly mash my fingers on a sequencer and generate distorted kick drum and mono synth arpeggio techno cliches.

Man, don't even get me started on our conversion rate and price of audio equipment in Aus, just look at something like the Machinedrum UW or Tempest here RRP...US price for Machinedrum UW is around $1500 (sweetwater), whereas here it's $2300 (storedj). Such a jump!
