Looks like a fun little box. But synth control is very limited

Its an instrument. It makes the music u wanna make. Thats like saying a guitar only plays Beatles covers.
But its definitely marketed towards the EDM crowd. Which makes sense cuz thats the people who gonna buy this thing. I still think its not too bad. Does lots of useful things. I just never clicked with the nova synth engine

I like the idea of it for messing around with and I am a Novation Fanboy at the moment.

Obviously I want to research more and maybe test drive one before I can consider buying. Can it be used in a Ableton channel does anyone know I briefly watched a clip yesterday.

Looks kinda like a toy to me. Trying to do a bunch of things and be well-rounded, but not amazing at any one thing. Aimed at beginners. If we're lucky they made it weird in some way that'll have an unexpected mis-use to make a unique feel.

For the price you're probably still better off getting a volca. imho

I have a MC303 Groovebox, bit of fun to use fairly complicated at times. But I wonder would the Novation Circuit be fun to kick out a few ideas and then bring these to the studio

True, the MC-303 is not the most inmediate groovebox...can do the work, more than people think, but needs an user who know about music, patience... Maybe too much learning to people nowadays, and that's why you can buy it for 120-150€ or less.

One of the worst things in old grooveboxes (except Electribes) is that you have to stop, open menus, choose things... before recording.
If this Novation can record just pressing REC while running... that will be really interesting.

Here are some official video's from Novation.
I have to say that I am pretty impressed by the workflow, it seems really intuitive and especially a lot of fun to use.

I was really considering getting this. Slightly disappointed that there's only 1 midi out... 2 would've been nice. Not to repeat what's been said already but I'm hoping I can make some colder deeper sounds with this than what's mostly been in the demos. Hopefully a Subsekt member will review it.

I came across this:
Novation is also working on software for Circuit that will allow for more control. “Out of the box, we’ve created 64 patches, which, with the eight macro controls gives you a lot of sonic possibility, but we know that users will want more control over the synth and to be able to make their own patches,” Burke explains of the software. As well as greater control over the sounds, it will feature a means of transferring sessions on and off the unit.

Juno.co.uk has 'm in stock, with the code 'junooct' you get 10% off.
I picked one up for 305 EUR including free FedEx Priority shipping.

Curious how this thing is!
