^ Aye, it stands tall.

I favour the Makaton Shiv rmx most, but couldn't find it on tube. This is from the same release. I never understood why there was any mystery surrounding the identity of Death Abyss. Men can change their shoes - but not the feet inside.

And this (never could do house, never will)

It isn't. Files were made available to those that purchased the wax.

Yes Boi! Love the Glenn Wilson majority of my fairly big record collection consists of his tracks.

Heroes records were some of the first I ever got , great tracks and cool artwork on the vinyl

As it happens I will be seeing him on Sat night!

65daysofstatic is nice. Retreat! Retreat! and Radio Protector are my favourite tracks from them! Much nostalgia.

Yeah man, mogwai! Recently I heard the old things Apparat did back in 2003 and so on...real cool IDM stuff. 65 dos combine those frickle beats with typical post-rock elements in a very cool way! Have to listen Mogwai again...they have released so much stuff haha...this zidane tribute was cool I can remember.

Sounds cool, I want to hear that! Haha yeah, it's hard to keep track of every single release. I have yet to hear their new stuff actually, same with 65days, but I bet it's quality.

I used to have this old liveset of Apparat in Barcelona circa 2001.
Fucking beautiful set, it was on my iPod for years.
I swear me and my friends must have forced so many people to listen to it...

Is it maybe that one?

Yeah also the beautiful "far away trains passing by" by Schnauss is from 2001. A lot of good idm things happened around that time (when I was 12 :)).
Also one of my favorite albums is from 2002, it´s this one:

Martin Gretschman, member of the Notwist, also known as "Acid Pauli" did this

I thought it would be impossible to remix Cash...but this isn´t that bad I think....

hah, I was 24, almost 25 at the time. Even had a few talks with Sascha back then as well after some of his shows.
He was a really friendly guy back then, no idea what he's like now though.
He started seriously getting into coke a few years later, only starting his shows maybe 3 hours later than he was supposed to start,
so not sure how he changed after that.

only 1:26 into the youtube video and I can already say for sure that it's that one (next to the very recognizable start I also clearly remember the 48:00 length).
Fucking hell does it bring back memories ! :)
Seems so long ago now...

One of my most a-ha (  ) moments in my life was when I discovered years later that the mp3 I had of this set was extremely poor in quality,
which is something I can usually tell immediately, and somehow never heard with this set.
Maybe it's just the grittiness of the whole set that hid that fact away from me for all those years.
First time I'm gonna hear it again in at least 5 years.
First time on my better monitors.

A few years later Sascha and Ellen Alien had just released "Orchestra Of Bubbles",
and me and 2 friends were travelling around Cuba without having booked any hotel, just staying with local people,
though we didn't speak any Spanish, and things went rather wrong a couple of times.
I was the only one of my friends with a drivers license at the time, and I don't think I was sober one single day.
You should have seen the faces of those Cubans when we were driving around with the windows down and that album played loud as fuck.
They were so much not used to that kind of music... :D

At one moment we had like 10 hours to get from one side of the island to the other side of the island, to reach the ambassy in Havanna before it was gonna close for 3 days
(we ran out of money, visa maxed out, passport stolen from one of us,...)
So I had to drive through all these shithole little towns fast as fuck.
In the mean time we kept on playing Ellen Alien's "Your Body Is My Body" over and over.
I still love that track to death so many years later.
I couldn't help but thinking :
"fuck, if I run somebody over now, I'm gonna have my ass banged out by José and Jesus for maybe 10 years,
while my friends can just safely go back, just cause I was the one stupid enough to get thedrivers license at a normal age" :)

youtu.be/Q4cYShqpG6A

Somehow I liked Ellen Allien and Apparat's music (both together and solo) the best around that time (from like 2000 till approx. 2007)

thx for bringing back those memories.
now all I gotta do is find a d/l link, cause all my MP3's vanished when both my external HD's died in only 10 days time about 4 years ago...

Sound like a nice "rum diary" trip to me. Imagine you guys in a cadillac cabrio, sniffing some coke and yelling "hola chicas" :) Don't know much about Sascha but once he sat next me at a Radiohead concert in Berlin. Orchestra of Bubbles is cool...have to hear it again. Apparat's later work is heavily radiohead influenced...
