It's nice, you captured that warehousey sound quite well. Doesn't do enough for me to justify being almost eight minutes long, though. Definitely ditch that hideous 'logon established' sample, the first time it appears it sounds cheesy and just becomes irritating every other time after that.

The sample is based on a game i play, the track is a 'tribute' to the game i suppose :) therefor the use of the sample. Players will instantly know what the sample means. I can assure you, i would never use anything like that in an actual track :D

this track is better than it seems to be. it is fucking good. best one i heard here on subsekt for a while. i'd say that the snare is absolutely unnecessary. wasn't it for the unperfect mix/sound, it would be a gem. still, it is. it lacks something in terms of sound quality, i do not know what it is and how you can improve it (but its a mix issue defo). if you did it, then it would be top sound for a top label imo (no exagerration). cheers man

hahaha, thanks Krypt. I kinda ruined the sound with some compression and limiters, and i am absolutly a n00b with 'mastering'. Just did it for some people who thought the original (-6db) was just to soft in volume. I'll upload a clean version soon, usually my mixdown is pretty decent ;-)

Thanks again for the kind words man! :D

yes, do it as you say. and leave mastering to the labels, imo prodcuers should focus on arrange and mixdown, everything can be mixed well, its a matter of eq, no limiters and compressor, pure sounds and volume.
waiting for it man!

It got the right vibe. Possibly a bit lengthy?

You should knock down the bass by quite a lot and up your hats some before making further mix related decisions.

same opinion as everyone else i guess, speech samples are tricky, almost every time i use them i get tired of hearing them, but sometimes they can really add that certain something. you could use a different and more atmospheric sample from the same game, and just play it quieter and more in the mix?

i have some idea for how you could make the track work without changing the length, if you want - do something different with your lead synth line besides going up and down on the filter cutoff! surely you can tweak the envelope or lfo or something, get some modulation routings going, to get some variety in there. agree there is huge potential in this track, don't waste it!

Yeah,

I'm jumping on the band wagon.

Track - Very good.

Vocals - Very bad. They cheapen the track. Like eating lobster deep fried.

Yeah, better without the vocal.

I would take everything up to the second break and halve it, so, lose the first break, take half of the first section and cut it together with half of the second section. the first section seems pretty superfluous, nothing really happening to justify the overall length. Editing down after arrangement is always a good thing to do.

I think the third break drops off the energy too much, it`s such a long break to essentially lose so much energy afterwards, I imagine being on the dancefloor and getting very frustrated.
So if it were me I would either have a major percussion change after that break, or change the way the lead synth works afterwards so the energy is at least maintained, if not risen.

Production wise it`s quite muddy and "woolly". So the low end could do with a clean up, and then the top end needs to be pushed up a little to balance.

Nice moody track.
