He`s one of the guys that went in to schranze, you can hear it in that tune, the early form of it.
I think most of the Drizzly group peeps went in to schranze, damn them.

Schranz is fun high engery and it sorted me through that horrible minimal era ha.Lost to the Void wrote:He`s one of the guys that went in to schranze, you can hear it in that tune, the early form of it.

Re: Kraemer and Wilson
It was fine when it started, but it just became comical, it`s very hard to do anything with that high compression sound, you are restricted to the offbeat for anything that isn`t the Doof. Which is why everything started to sound the same, like a man sawing a piece of wood.
The early stuff was great.

My old man neighbour must be a proper hardore Schranz head. He's always sawing. Night and day. Wood shavings all over his garden. Might lodge a complaint

Re: Kraemer and Wilson
I was quite into that sound of Kay D. Smith back then, it probably was an early stage of schranz like Steve says, but I always found it quite distinctive. Hearing that track reminds me of the Consumer Recreation stuff (not Consumer Recreation Service that releases at this moment). Umek once said that he was bored of the techno he produced, that it became a repetative trick. Nevertheless I'm glad I own this one. I never really understood his move to the housey stuff, but maybe it was his way of dodging minimal and schranz

the other kremer
I quite like that one. Hadn't heard anything by him before. It sounds a lot like the sort of stuff I would play towards the end of sets when I was muntered.

You might like this one as well then. Sound quality is crappy, but this is 90 minutes of energy in my opinion.bergertron wrote:actually remember this youtu.be/WRZn_on9sqE
Id say I listened to this a million times

Re: Kraemer and Wilson
man it sucks being on a different time zone, i miss a lot of the action. ah well, glad i could stir things up a bit.
for the record i love kay d smith's stuff, psychodrill is a classic! i have a lot of his records, and some andreas kraemer too. that 2002-2004 kind of era was cool for those dudes.
i was right into schranz when it kind of started being a thing- it was heavy, aggressive, and i still classed it as 'techno' (albeit an obnoxious, hard type)
now it's just another flavour of happy hardcore. there's no originality left and it's cheesy as all fuck. nothing techno about it. as steve said, it's become comedy music !
can't believe there's kraemer and also kremer, that's just confusing !

Some of it got awfully cheesy and when this happen I followed the harder edge stuff like Leo Laker/switchblade, Waldhaus and Weichenntechnik, dj hammond, jason little, orman bitch and probably a few more . touching 170bpm at times playing this stuff out.ozias_leduc wrote:man it sucks being on a different time zone, i miss a lot of the action. ah well, glad i could stir things up a bit.

Re: Kraemer and Wilson
The fast stuff just became distorted hard house essentially about as far removed from the techno ethic as you can get.
Once you lose room for low end and go all mid and top emphasised, it just looses too much techno-ness.
Gabber.

Re: Kraemer and Wilson
Ohhhh I love a good bit of old Gabba and Speedcore. Still got a decent amount on vinyl and dust em off quite often. If I'm in a really fucking bad mood, an hour or so of Gabba and Speedcore is a great way to calm down.
Thank you for the laughs, debate, new music found, production tips etc etc over the years. I wish Subsekt and everyone all the best for the future. Wiu.
Re: Kraemer and Wilson
Might not believe me but the Schranz-Krämer played one of the best sets I've heard. Around 13 years ago. Brutal as hell but with an edge of humor and fun in it, without being cheesy or dorky.

so many harder tracks try to take themselves far too seriously, woo i'm so hard / tough / moody / tortured / *releases doves* ... etc
to be aware enough to be slightly tongue in cheek is a great thing

I really do wish I knew the music that used to get played on one of thensoundsystems in our collective.
It was the most fucked up darkest nastiest grabber doomcore shit.
The beats were all over the place.
