“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

I have to sample water drumming some day haha. That was great.

Not your traditional "world music" sound.... Can't link times in embedded videos, but if you check any of it, might as well start at 2:00 minutes in.

Last year, I saw a contemporary dance performance with part of the soundtrack being Palestinian dabke music. Very energetic and trippy at times. The recordings I have are a tad faster and rougher than the video though

I had a most memorable night in Marrakech on the Djeema el Fna square a few years ago. After seeing a band play on the square one night,I just felt the need to ga back a few days later. Arriving there, one of the band members nodded in our direction to one of his comrades, so I was ready to yet again pull a fiver out of my pocket. Instead my bird and I got taken to the best spot in the circle to enjoy an evening with the most hypnotic music. The place was filled with locals, young and old, listening to the story of their people around a fire (Berbers rely heavily on the oral passing on of history). Going back to the region to spend the New Year week, and terribly looking forward to it! Morroco is a fantastic place to visit, Marrakech is like a modern fairy tail you walk into (with the good and the bad)!

The rhythms are interesting, not much sound design going on, but the guy is clearly passionate about this. Unlike his bewildered guitar player and his bored looking keyboard guy haha
