Help finding sleezy D style vocals

Post by manmachine »

Any ideas where I can find some good dark male vocals to use for tracks?
I've tried sample jeff mills from techno docs, motown acapellas, even thought
about buying a sample library. Cant seem to get anywhere.
Any ideas much appreciated.

Pre made vocal always suck ass man and are usually cheesy. Just record your own and mangel them, pitch them down, run them through a vocoder, etc, etc. Start sampling old sic-fi b movies, etc. Its all about the processing anyways, and if you don't have a mic just use your laptops built in one, its good enough for Four Tet...

A mic and a pitchshifter is all you need.

Aye, Barfunkel is a pro at that. We heard it before, called "poetry" on his Soundcloud.
