Soundtoys Free Little AlterBoy Plug-In

Soundtoys is releasing a new plugin featuring pitch and formant shifting, the overly popular hard-tune effect, pitch-locked robot voice, and a tube saturation model borrowed from Decapitator. it doesnt require a USB dongle. just have to register an iLok account to activate the software if i read that correctly. havent tried it myself cuz i am not interested but i did that with an eventide plugin and it was easy and no hassle at all.

just using this thread to tell anyone who didn't wanna get the soundtoys because of the ilok shit, that you can give it a go now.
I just had their basic FX bundle, and got enamil saying I could upgrade to Soundtoys 5, who doesn't need an ilok anymore,

I thought it was at least worth looking into, since I hate that ilok thing too,
but I expected to be paying a lot for the upgrade, especially since you could have all their products at once.
All it costed me was 145$, and all I needed to do was "give up" (=trade in) 2 licences for it,
which in my case was just the general FX bundle I paid for and the little alterboy one that I got for free.

So for 145$ extra I am now completely ilok free and I have all 18 of their plugins,
I already had the best ones,
but now I also have the superb FX rack feature, which you can compare with an FX rack in Live except that it's made just for their plugins.
Having those multi-FX presets to start from is also a powerful thing.

Obviously I did pay a few hundreds to get the original FX bundle about 2 years ago, but paying only 145$ for an upgrade like that is a steal to me (and far more than what stupid NI usually gives you with their upgrades)

Yeah I really want the whole bundle but $500 is a bit much for me... kinda wish they offered different combinations for less.

I've had an eye on the bundle for quite some time now, and now with USB iLok out of the way, I'd reconsider. True, $500 is not cheap, but from what I can remember, the grin factor was huge when trying these out. If I were to start from scratch, this pack would be on top of the list.

Downloading the demo of 5 now... I know I'll buy.

I have the Native v4 bundle, which is a stripped down package. I upgraded to v5 for free and now I have all the plugins including the FX rack! Pretty nice!
