I'll pass. From what I read, this is all just stuff that's been said before in various places and mediums. It's got Ableton on the cover though so I'm sure it'll sell a shit load. Wasn't there a thread on here a while back about this kind of stuff? If only it had been collated into a decent text and published. Subsekt could of had a best seller!
Thank you for the laughs, debate, new music found, production tips etc etc over the years. I wish Subsekt and everyone all the best for the future. Wiu.

That may be true. But as someone who appreciates a good book and has time to read on my journeys etc... it seems a good investment of 20 quid. Just reading the extracts off the mircosite there was some great bits of advise.
As great as this place is, all the gold on here is unfortunately spread about, and often buried under threads about Steve's old rave exploits, Hades love of pianos, Mono's hate of distorted kicks, 50,000 uses of the word cunt and John dodging a thread where we're still waiting for the frigging paypal details ;) . Oh and how to get that ./Bumload sound with Berghain kicks.

There is a decent bookmarking feature though 8-)

Anyhow I'm looking forward to the delivery of me boooook.

Hopefully they get some more in stock, quite liked the bits of content I've read and it looks pretty, would be nice to have in my studio area. Wouldn't be quite the same on Kindle!

there will be more stock after the first batch go out. the fanboys were quick on this batch =)

agree about the Oblique Strategies too, hence posting it. everything that is covered is very applicable, but vague enough to be applied in different ways!

Ordered a copy a last week. It doesn't look like anything ground breaking but it seems like a good reference to keep focus.

I was strapped into my Perspex box tonight & the missus was turning the pages for me.

Glad she understands how my special move can be a strength & a weakness depending on the occasion.

---------

Seriously though for a sec..

Read through 2/3 of it. Really cool book. Glad I got it. The way it's laid out is nice.. 'Problem' on one page.. And 'Solution' on the other.

It definitely had some shit in there that I already do.. Both positive & negative so it's a case of being honest with yourself about things that you find challenging. It's a universal thing.. Not just with music. If you can be logical & pro active in the other areas of your life (most of the time..), why not with music too?

I like it. It's written very clearly & keeps to the point. No waffle, even though some of the 'Problems' described could have very easily given way to self-help type 'solutions'. It's very restrained. Could have come with a cassette tape :)

I ordered a copy when it came out after reading the sample on RA. Most of it I did already know or had read somewhere else before but there was a few great points in there which made me grab the whole copy. I figured if there's some good stuff in just the sample then the book is probably worthwhile.
