Mick Finesse - Suppression EP [22]

Post by mick finesse »

https://0220.bandcamp.com/album/mick-fi ... ression-ep

The Suppression EP is a limited 12" vinyl release with two original tracks by Mick Finesse and featuring remixes from the esteemed Mike Parker and mysterious newcomer Sequence.

With our first vinyl release, Mick Finesse explores the murky & undefined edges of of techno with two very distinct and disparate tracks. The title track, 'Suppression', takes us through a haunting lullaby on its death note. 'Syndrome Exchange' plays on the rusty funk of a hostile machines epiphany in purpose.

On the remix side Mike Parker gives 'Suppression' a proper techno workout and gives the subtle meandering of the original a much more pointed take on what it is to be driven into submission. Newcomer Sequence keeps the same rusty funk alive on his remix of 'Syndrome Exchange', this time turning it on its head with a refreshingly dubby & hypnotic spin.

Tracklist:

Mick Finesse - Suppression
Mick Finesse - Syndrome Exchange
Mick Finesse - Suppression (Mike Parker Remix)
Mick Finesse - Syndrom Exchange (Sequence Remix)

Support from Porc, Truss, Pinion, Truncate, Mondkopf, Bas Mooy, Octave, Martyn Hare, Soramimi, & Raven.

I get the reasoning behind what you're doing here but it's a touch heavy handed. Some of us tend to lurk the forums and enjoy the conversations without commenting superfluously. A quick PM to reach out would have been a nice touch before your overreaction.

You run a techno board with a New Release section, what did you expect people would do here outside of self-promote? If self-promotion in a new releases subforum is going to cause you this much anxiety then set a post count minimum before anyone can post here. Saves you the time of having audit these posts and follow on with a public complaint.

Cheers.

It's simply time to clean up a little and your post was at the top of the list.
Get involved and it won't be a problem. Having a post count lock is kinda not necessary, everyone has "Interact, please don't start spamming us" in their profile until their post count goes up, so it says it right on your own profile, you ignored it and a huge can of spam landed on your post.

Fair is fair in love and war.

You can still spam, you won't get banned, but you may get spammed.

You're absolutely right, this is your house. I appreciate the incredibly warm welcome and encouragement to participate in this community you've built here. Good luck with that.

It's only spam, you can't call that heavy handed, it's only 198g per can.

I suspect Mick hasn't been back but spam aside, I've been enjoying his stuff recently. So if you do see this, good work!

I quite liked the Porc Trax release

Still, the point is that this is community of sorts, and if you do want to benefit from this community through self promotion, you should engage with that community.
Everyone is welcome, but this isn`t just a place to throw up a poster of yourself as you cycle past on your techno bicycle, hence the subtitle the guys put below peoples avatars when their post count is low.

The can of spam is gone now, the point has been made.

Welcome Mick, please come and say hello, we are all cunts here, but definitely not dicks.

Am totally with you, I find it hard myself to remember to visit the forum despite having a bookmark on my toolbar.

I did this afternoon work out how to get it to email me when people reply to topics so you'll see me pop up more no doubt.

And I really did comment here because I've been playing a few of his tracks recently and it made me laugh :)

I appreciate that and I have my fair share of cunty moments. As I said before I tend to lurk and prefer not to post unless I feel like I have something to contribute. I get that it's not a good look to the community so will be sure to make more of an effort to participate before posting on this sub.

Thanks for this thread subsekt. Today I have learned a great lesson..

If everyone shows a bit more finesse & stops acting the fucking mick then the world CAN be a better place :)

*huggs*

--------

That's the problem with lurking though sometimes. I feel like I 'know' lots of users on different sites & am a regular of sorts.. Even though we've never interacted really & I only post sporadically. Bit like looking in the windows of people's houses lol.. If I occasionally scent marked something in their garden then they mightn't get as concerned when I burst into their sitting room, in the nip.. with some URLz hahaha

Jokes btw.. It's late, I've got the flu & am going silly.

Like your stuff too Mick. Hope you don't fuck off haha
