New members say hello...
Re: New members say hello...
Hey mate! I'm quite a big fan of boys noize too, I'd considered him an electro artist for ages, but when someone had told me "he mixes techno and has made it" and from of the sets I've seen, I was initially confused. But then I listened to a bunch of his tracks and tracks he was mixing, such as the ones in the mixmag 'epic techno set' he does.AutoMaschine wrote:Hey subsekt
I'm a 16-year old from FL, US, relatively new to the techno scene, got into it via Boys Noize, and I haven't looked back ever since.
I've also recently started producing techno & house, and I found this forum, so I was like, "Why not?"
And since I'm new, I'd like to expand my knowledge & listen to more techno artists.
So.. yea, hi.
Compared to where I am now, I wouldn't really label them straight techno per se, but they have the techno feel and techno style, they just lean much more towards electro. But the main thing is getting rid of the tunnel vision, going "yeah that doesn't sound like techno" or "that track is mixing one essential sound, so it's not techno" or , "It's much too slow, this can't be techno". All not true. But yeah I could go on forever, but welcome man! You will learn a lot here and there are some very helpful people here.
If half of that made no sense, I was unable to sleep last night and it's now 7am here, heh

Oi Subsekt !
I'm a long time lurker, so I decided it was time to register and contribute to the forum !
I've always been listening to loads of music since my younger age. Got really into all the electronic stuff when I discovered Kraftwerk, BoC, LFO and Aphex Twin ; then I explored all kinds of genres. What I really love since then is techno (Mills and Surgeon blew me away) and also some old jungle/dnb stuff (Omni Trio!!!).
I've been producing for approx two years, mostly experimenting on Ableton Live and Audacity. I like to work with samples more than with synths but trying to learn more about synthesis these past few weeks.
Also I'm a french chef (exciouze my bad engliche) so I can trade cooking advices for production advices !! (Making music and cooking share lots of similarities imo)

and from the South of France and only 21 years young.
the world isn't fair, some people have all the luck.
Where specifally in the south ? You have one of those nice singy accents in your French, no doubt ?
It always makes me smile when I talk to people with such an accent.
Some accents can be damn right ugly, and others can be so beautiful.
The southern part of France has some beautiful accents.

Re: New members say hello...
no fucking way you're gonna convince me you have no accent when you speak english.
It's so easy to spot someone being French when they speak English.
The French accent is terrible ("dzeriebull") when they speak English, just like most Germans (including my wife) accents are terrible ("tzeriebal").
And don't make me start on the Italian accents...
Reminds me of the Fast Show Channel 9,
or Allo Allo, where they all speak English, but with their typical accent, and they can't seem to understand each other though it's all just english.
haha, timeless humour.

how about plugging it into your soundcard in and recording it into your DAW.
Or plugging it into your field recorders mic/direct in.
there's probably even a function that makes you record and your set and your cat scratching the sofa at the same time,
judging from the rather boring video I saw from Seth Troller at Resident Masturbator where his assistent was doing the same with a field recorder and was afterwards pointing towards the thing while showing it to the crowd as he wanted to record more cheering noises.

rare as fuck but gives you plenty of ego-centric extra's,
plus the "AS SOON AS I USE CAPS EVERYONE ELSE WILL SHUT THE FUCK UP CAUSE THEY JUST KNOW I'M RIGHT Y'ALL"-option !!
very important !!
one gains respect at first CAP !!!
