Low price analogue mono synths

Post by tsurani »

Anyone here got any of the cheaper analogue mono synths on the market at the moment? Stuff that is available now not vintage kit.
I'm thinking along the lines of the Vermona mono lancet, Arturia mini/micro brute, Moog minitaur, Doepfer dark energy etc.
Anyone got any of these or something similar in the same sort of price range? How have you found it?

I played around with Dark Energy and Minibrute. Didn't like those synths at all. Way too limited in terms of sound design (yeah i know, mono synths)... For the money they costs, i'd get a cool VST anytime...or drugs....

DSI EVOLVER desktop version.

2 analog oscs. 2 digital osc's. Lp & hp filters.. Separate Distortion, bit reduction controls. Has audio in. 2 outputs. 3 delays. Few lfos, lots of mod options & there is a (paid) software editor that would be wicked teamed up with the desktop version. Also has a step sequencer in it!

Going to buy a microbrute I think. Ok so all these things have their limits I guess. I microbrute is only 230 quid, you'd pick up a couple of vsts for that i guess, but am on a break from clicking things on a screen and its been refreshing. Dsi evolver looks wicked as well.

not sure if I ever mentioned this one here, but if you have an evolver, you must read Anu Kirk's evolver guide.
Very useful book with lots of great idea's.
Here's a link to carbon's site who seems to be hosting it.
I used to know carbon from years ago on VSE, really nice guy and proper gear junkie.
If I remember correctly some of it is written for the poly evolver, but you can definitely use parts for the mono evolver as well.

there you go, should keep you busy during X-mas holliday's :

+1 on that. the tetra has something similar in its software side. but it's more for programming, not on the fly like evolver. though the tetra is a poly and it has the functionality of the mopho with 4 voices.
done the research on the evolver cause it's a very dope synth but i've been wary on getting it used since i had the first adrenalinn that had the same encoders and someone wrenched the fukkout of one of the encoders, rendering it useless. the thing stopping me from getting one has been the encoder issue on older used models, trying to wait to have the cash for getting it new and the damning idea that i have similar function available if i actually put in work with my other synths. so calling myself out on being lazy has made me look into doing stuff with the arpeggiator in the blofeld which is another very worthy synth for not much money (albeit if only analog modeling). it's a bit glassy but emotional and rich.

but yeah.. dat evolver though.. <_< <3

Yeah.. The encoders certainly can be a problem. I got all mine replaced by DSI.

Mopho is really good value for the money, esp used, thats if you like the DSI sound.

Vermona Lancet is nice, as is the Minitaur, both are similar, creamy filter, kinda limited though as bass synths but they sound great.

I see loads of Minibrutes for sale on ebay, not sure why... I want a Pulse 2 next.

I mean, he doesn't always have to rush in and lay down his balls on the table like in other threads. Sure, a big bad ass synth is nice, but there are a dudes which just don't got much money or they just starting out with synths.

i see and hear that all the time, people have no patience,
people want everything right now.

they want a girlfriend without investing love,
they want nice food without investing money
and they want to create big sounding tunes
without investing any of it.

that will simply not work!

i know that not all people on this planet are billionaires like me...
(just in case someone will not get the humor here, this is a joke)

I WAS MORE BROKE THEN ANY OF YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE

but i had the faith, patience and love to thrive for the highest,
even if it looked like being a suicide commando.

if one can spend 500 bugs on a synth, he can save twice as long
to have a synth for 1000 bugs and so on, if he can wait...

simple math if you ask me, but if you cannot wait, it is allready
to late, because you will never get what you realy want!

that is why i wrote he should wait for some time to save money
for something realy good...

because to invest patience, love and money will give him
something a lot better then all the other "i want it now cannot wait people"
will ever experience.

and if you still mix up the fact that i am pure honest and totaly
direct with anything you have in mind to judge me for mr. mono xid...

this is just for you:

i don't lay my balls on the table, i shove them down your throat,
because i know you like it!

and comb your fucking hair before you speak into my direction.....

PUNK

what is more arrogant, to say the truth about things or to blindly
judge about someone saying it?

NOW hate me!!!

:)

That won't work dude because Levent ate your tiny balls already, right ??? 8-) 8-) 8-)

A guy asked a question about cheap mono analogs (for whatever reason). So your pathetic answer (with that slight arrogant undertone) wasn't really helpful in this case. You said they all sound like toys which isn't true. I heard mad decent music made with these machines. But yeah, fuck it.

I comb my hair only for cool people, so you have to deal with it. ;)

Oh, yeah i know that i'm a punk, better than being a cunt, innit?

i have no problem with that you have a different opinion
about the topic and i do not wonder about it, after listening
to some bits of what you like and do, it totally makes sense
to me.

you started to get personal, judging and insulting right away.....

your parents did a lame job bringing you up!

pulling lens name into your crap shows even more how less
your respect for other people is……

i will leave it here, because in real life, speaking
would be over now as well!
