He`s a wonderful tattoo artist. Straight black work is his speciality, which I have a need for. My new tattoo is black work, but very detailed, straight lines needed.
Great video. I love his style, the smudgy look.

have you tried using a different (preferably new) adapter ?
The adapters of the APC40's (original model) aren't very good.
mine stopped working one day (completely out of the blue).
since I had other things to pay for, I only ordered a new one (still the original model) 6 months later or so.
first thing I did was try out the adapter of the new one on the old one and voilà, it started working like new again.

Funny thing is I tried another adapter on the old one in the days after it stopped working.
I tried it with one of my "multi"-adapters I had from another piece of gear, and it still didn't work.
So fuck knows why, but in any case now I'm using the adapter from my new APC on the old one.
I thought about sending the 2nd one back, but I don't like the new APC40's, and my 2nd one was the very last one sold at music store, so I figured I might as well just keep it as a spare since it is one of the most used pieces of gear in my studio.

I tried out another "multi"-adapter I received from music store (by accident) after I had tried that first multi-adapter months earlier, and that one does work for the 2nd APC.
So yeah, now I'm pretty much APC covered... :)

anyways, lesson to remember : flimsy adapters !

on my X-mas list :
I'm most likely getting myself new headphones for my iPod Nano.
My Nano is 8 years old and virtually indistructable.
I can't count the times I've shown this to people by just throwing it on the floor and the things keeps on working just fine.
If it ever gives up on me I will honestly start crying cause it's been the most loyal piece of gear I have ever known.
I can't imagine the new ones would survive the suffering I put my old one through.
Unfortunately my headphones don't survive that well.
I'm still more than happy with my Sennheiser HD25's, but they have suffered a lot from using them while doing heavy (and dirty) manual labour while renovating my house.
One side keeps falling out. Easily fixed by moving the cable a bit, but still I feel it's time for an upgrade...

I've got my mind set on a pair of Phonon's SMB-02.
If I don't like them I'll most likely get a pair of Focals and sell the Phonon's.

Other than that I can't think of much.

ow, I'll get some sheet music properly printed on hard paper and binded so I can fold open 4 or 5 page pieces on my piano stand. This will (approx.) only cost me around 15 euro's/piece, and that way I can stop turning pages in the middle of a piece.
I'm so sick of doing that really. If you play a difficult piece it's impossible to keep playing at the right speed while turning a page quickly enough and it completely takes you out of the right mood of the performance.
I used to be able to remember the notes of a piece soon enough so I didn't need the sheet music after a while but this doesn't work any more like it used to.
It's probably cause the pieces I play are harder than what I used to play or it's cause I'm getting older.
Most likely it's just both.

Other than that : if I have any money left maybe 1 or 2 cheap plugins.
I really shouldn't, cause I still need to repay my savings account for my 2nd laptop and haven't done that yet cause I bought a few plugins the last 2 months, so most of my X-mas bonus will go into repaying that, but I still have my mind set on a few others...

mine is constantly asking/begging for food.
and he keeps sleeping on our bed even though he hasn't done that for years,
problem is it gives you less room and you get awake in the middle of the night cause he attacks your legs when you try to move in your sleep.
fucking cunt cat, I love 'em like hell though, so what are you gonna do ? :)

hey , thanks

No I haven’t tried a new adapter as it appears to be receiving power. When it’s on it is in demo mode – cycling the lights. The usb (of which I have tried many) is not making the connection to the computer. So my computer is not recognising the device. Happened when I was pc. Tried all the ports and have since got a mac with no change in behaviour.

This is why I think changing the USB port could work if it was able to be removed from the casing.

Obsolescence built it.

I had my APC do the demo mode thing whenever I closed Live and forgot to turn off my APC.
If I wanted Live to recognize it again, it meant I had to do a reboot of the mac.
This happened every single time for years and I found it very annoying.

I still don't know why but now it doesn't do this any more.
I can't remember what changed exactly. Maybe it was getting Live 9 ? Maybe it was when I got my new MBP in january ?

In any case : having it run in demo mode is even more hopeful than what I had : nothing at all, not one single light (which makes sense when you know afterwards it was the adapter but isn't very helpful at the moment it happens)

did you try looking at the MIDI preferences in Live ?
Or changing USB ports (on your mac/hub/whatever) and cables ?

Get naked, bring it outside & set fire to it. Then dance around it whilst howling like a wolf. See how that goes :)

That different USB port advice is just plain daft.

why would that be daft ?
it's just a totally harmless, totally free thing you can try and see if it makes a change.
chances are big it doesn't make any difference, but there's nothing to lose anyway so why not give it a try ?

so, do you have keys in the house John ?

Thinking about getting one of the volca range. Would either be bass or keys. Most likely bass. Anyone here used them and whats your opinions. Or if you have any better suggestions in the same price range. Or spend an extra 100 and get the new Roland TB - 3
