I was searching behind my fridge and I found Subsekt all over the floor there.

It took a lot of Mr muscle to clean it up.

Before my registration was accepted, it was routine for me to go to google and type "dark techno + *production technique*, which then turned into:
"Subsekt + *production technique*" and then just bookmarking 100 threads haha :P, probably read at least 30 pages from the hole

To be fair, it was "read later" mainly on my iPad, then I'd spent half an hour either going through tabs outside whilst having a smoke or would email myself 20+ links to read later. And as a result I still have a fair bit bookmarked to properly go through and also have made copious pages of notes of stuff to learn + remember and printed them out haha. All knowledge is good knowledge, though :P, I've learned quite a bit from here.

Oh, you so are! I'm usually not one for music forums, and some of the searches I'd done had returned some results to various forums, some with people having no clue about what they're talking about, some being massive circlejerks over equipment x or y or a certain genre, and some that are just downright abusive. I'd looked up a few threads before on places like gearslutz and was just like "ugh, so not only did I not learn anything, I just read page of vitriol against some random DAW" and a few others had been not that bad, but not great.

Then I had started searching up various tutorials, production techniques, etc from here and it because my 'go to' source, as I've been making techno maybe 6 months or so (seriously, as opposed to just fucking around) and I was amazed at how knowledgeable everyone was here, the high degree of information sharing and teaching of others, the laid back nature, generally high quality of music being produced and producers skills, userbase etc.

Glad I can actually post now instead of just lurk :P

Well I hope it didn't take to long for us to activate your account lol.

Hopefully the outside world dont see to much of the "derails" that tend to happen (on every forum)

I constantly send myself emails with things to do later
like checking out some artists back catalogue on discogs, or reading some article
or just email containing copied info I got from here on some topic I still want to practice on some day

now my inbox is far too stuffed. :D

i do that too! and its actually a really crappy way of keeping track (as are bookmarks i think). there are some tools for content storage within categories or with tags but so far none seemed to do it the way i want to. maybe just have to code one by myself...

I only bookmark what I know I'll be returning to.
andI cleaned out my bookmarks when I did a clean install on my new laptop in january, that helped to keep things more tidy.
