nah, don't think so, but I do suspect it's not on all your elements, or because there is a serious difference in level on some of your elements, it makes those low level elements completely drown to the back of your mix

I think that every dam day. Not about you though :D

haha and then you post a clip in this thread
and someone mentioned robert hood and you in the same sentence
so dont be that modest youre really talented a got some releases on your sleeve allready ;)
but about the track im not so certain about the break / switch up, i know it works but it makes it a little bit standard techhouse ish, i think a filter arrangement will work better
if you keep the switch up a nice 90s cliche m1 house piano would be nice in that break or a 2000 and one Kawasaki style chord
and there is a annoying ticking closed hat? on the left side in the mix, first i thought my video card was broken again

No sidechaning I just went overboard with the widening like Jordan mentioned and of course I forgot to listen from the beginning so I didn't pick that up :)

Only thing that I did was use Ozone Imager to widen the mix and Bx Console N to lift the highs cause everyone knows how much I like high :D

As an Australian we are very familiar with the word cunt.
It is part of our everyday dialect, you will often find us calling our mothers, daughters and sons a cunt.
What a great way to describe someone.

I like it, especially all the polyrhythms and choice of sounds. Very Millsy with the subtle strings at the end.
I would let the kick fade over a couple of bars at the first break so that the other times (short breaks) it has more impact. Good stuff ..

Don't like really poly anymore, it too boring anyway, the mix sound good, however put more elements in a track to make it more interesting.
https://soundcloud.com/solomana/simonas ... am/s-djxby any opinions?

yeah, excellent suggestion.

I would try and do something about the first 2 minutes,
it's too long or too repetitive.
the track only fully starts to work after the break at the moment.

but where do you hear strings Intrusav ? I hear some kind of high-ish texture sound, yeah, but I'd never call that strings. :)

I like it a lot. Maybe that hat/ perc is a bit too harsh?

I don't like the 'bells' pattern when the filter opens up. It just doesn't sound that nice. It's great between 1.30-1.40. I'd keep the filter within those frequencies, and slowly fade/ filter it in and out.

Not sure how necessary the hats that come in are. I'd reverb them a bit more backwards.

I'm not a fan of the pattern after the break, it's just too 'dissonant'/ unpleasant. I think for the same reason as I said above. Too harsh.

I am thinking about PAS, and you could do A LOT with gentle fade in/ outs. I mean it sounds GREAT at 6.30. I mean really GREAT.

I think with a bit of a rework you could have a real banger .

Just stopping by to give some feedback.

Three things I would do with this and call it a day. Add just a bit more tension building into the break. The odd pattern buzz sound that's throughout the track, I'd make it a longer (still odd) pattern and swing one or a few of the repetitions to break it up just a little, it's a bit too repetitive for me. And last, I'd make a change to the tone of the arp at some point after the break. After the full on part, maybe filter it down a bit too. Anyways, nice track man!

Nice laid back vibe man, perfect track for when your stoned! Only thing I'm not liking is the kick sound. I think it would benefit from a bit cleaner kick.

Ok.....

An actual clip this time. This sits squarely in between looped techno and house. Is there such a thing as looped house?

Oh yeah, it's quite 'maximal' for me. This is just a quick sketch so the arrangement is pretty terrible

Any positive/ negative thoughts? Can it be finished? I'm really interested in the negative points....after all thats the only way we get better right?

Wow, that's a really nice groove man! I agree with Prophän though, maybe just a bit less reverb. finish that for sure!

Fuck, 3am! Gotta get some sleep..

Fuckin hell, been gone for like a few weeks and don't even know where to start catching up on shit.

I find this one a bit big in transients. Low end sounds a bit dirty to me as well but I would love to hear where you taking it - as always with your stuff. So a big YAY from my side for the idea. And just for the record: sounds quite housie to me. First thing that came into my mind was Bar 25. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Very straight forward! It's not 100% my cup of tea as I'm not a real big fan of beep beep, but this one caught my attention and I do not really know what to add apart from a very abrupt end. So yeah, respect for that one mate :)

2nd this. Add some fades, filtermovement, ... and maybe check the placement of your element in the frequence range. Those ongoing hihats fight the synth bleep thingy and after the break the new synth thingy fights the first one and the hihats.

nice one! well balanced as far as i can hear. try to get the main elements more panned, best automate some panning. i think it get's too bring to have it all that centered. Like your pads are moving, make the melody, too. and it's dangerously near to being corny, but it's not crossing the border :)

Thank you guys for the great feedback. I will take all of it into account when i'm working on this except for the "poly are boring anyways part"
Shidzo I really like this track, the pads are really well done and go along well with the arps, nice job man

I just can't get the loop to work into a track. Maybe i'll come back to it soon.

Thanks again

This track is great. The springy elements really stand out from anything else i have heard recently.

I can't fault your mixdown at all.

I think you could finish the track at around the 5 minute mark, it starts sounding a little samey after that point.
