Ableton normal panning vs. Live 10 split panning
Ableton normal panning vs. Live 10 split panning
So Ableton 10 has a new panning mode, "true stereo" split panning. I understand that it lets you pan each channel independently but what exactly the difference? In what situations is this mode better than the standard Ableton one?
Re: Ableton normal panning vs. Live 10 split panning
Let's say you have a signal which is panned hard left - all the signal is in the left channel, nothing in the right.
With the normal panning mode, panning this track hard right will give you silence because the panning acts as a left/right balance.
With the new split panning mode you can pan the left (and right) channel anywhere you want including hard right. It treats the left and right channels independently for panning.

So you could have sound 100% left and 20% right? Do I get it correctly?
