What do you mean by 'more demo'?

that the general sound quality of this track sounds more amateurish than all the other tracks I ever heard of you.
As if you somehow went back to a previous version of yourself 2 or 3 years earlier, when you didn't know yet how to make things sounds as professional as you can make them sound today.

But with that being said, It's nice, still VERY hades though. I'd like to hear a track with a 1 bar bass line, or a 1/2 bar bass even, rather than a 16 bar one.

It's a very nice track indeed. The only thing I really don't like is the glockenspiel type sounds. It's just too simple sounding for a nice track. It just sounds too obvious. Either the actual noise or the notes played. It sounds MUCH better without it.

Other than that, just a careful arrangement of what you've got, and only over 5 mins, I think you have a very nice track on your hands.

thx for listening man.

You mean the Rhodes sound or the arp-ish sound ?
Like I said, I might change the sound of the Rhodes, if that's the sound you mean.
It's funny, Pedro heard it last night and said he loved the Rhodes,
and I remember you said something similar when I wrote that Rhodes part on top of someone else's house track.
Guess you must really not like Rhodes sounds (which is totally fine) ;)

And yeah, "booty house" was just a title because it needed a title and I was too late to come up with anything original.
:)

And I guess I'm just not capable of making music without emotion and/or melancholy in it.
But I'm not sure if I want to make such simple bass lines, you know ? Too many people already doing that. Why not exploit my sense for melody ?

Yeah, I agree. I had some trouble with the clarity of the pads, and mixing a loop in.

A lot happens in the mids, that's why it sounds a bit more amateur

well, it was late at night when I listened, and I'm afraid I was very very drunk,
but nonetheless it was the first thing I noticed.

Ok, since Hades honestly ruined my dreams....

No, in all seriousness, thanks for pointing out the production value, or lack of.

I've been working on cutting and pasting vocals. I know they aren't perfect, but I think they kinda work. Maybe?

Ps the mix is very rough. Any thoughts?

the fragments some times sound as if they were a bit too abruptly cut in the end.
other than that this sounds fine.
very Jordanneke though ;) ;)

and I'd also bring in more stereo image, especially pan some of that percussion,
never understood why people would leave anything but the kick in the middle,
right now all of it sounds almost mono.

Thanks for listening.

You are right about the panning, but I'll do that in a more 'final' stage. And about the vocal clips, I have to find a way of individually working on the clips to somehow lengthen the tails, but the clips are quite short . I'll look into it this weekend.

I think I need to spend more time on learning how to mix more 'maximal' tracks. It's much easier to mix 2 leads, kick, bass and percussion only.

About the rhodes, I think I just hate that sound especially in the upper octaves.

Working on this at the moment. A little blend of things. Trying to get the kick and bass solid, might change the notes of arpegiatted synth I have going on. Open for feedback :D track is still pretty rough at the moment.

Been fiddling a lot with distortion and saturation lately, this is heavily work in progress, I already gave more space to those claps in my current version.

Oh man! The space on this track is awesome, really dig the soundscape you have built.

There is a lot of weight on that kick drum! I feel like you could add a little more space to that lead stab, or evolve it into more space so that it seems like the track is travelling more.

Trying to work on my grooves with this track. I have done a basic mix down but will probably add some more elements soon.

Really liking those breakbeast, but in my opinion it would sound better if you just use them from time to time to break the monotony of the track for 1 or 2 bars and then keep playing the original pattern, otherwise there is definitely a groove going on !

Well produced. Almost trancelike. Definitely worth turning into a full track. You could maybe bring the kick more to the foreground of but right now giving the atmospheres and arps space is making it sound super lush.

That's a teeth grinding 6am tresor tune :P I like the tone of the kick, but it's maybe a little too dominant? The dynamics in the bleeps are being squashed, I'd say it's either the kick, or too much saturation/distortion on the bleeps themselves, maybe even both. Last critique is the clap sound: it sounds a little bit brittle, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it sticks out when everything else has been rammed.

Drums are ace, as always. Lovely fills and the like. I think the idea is good, it's a bit of a departure from your other stuff, but not in a bad way. It's very much in the melodic techno range, almost maceoplex like. I wouldn't add too much, maybe one more lead to play off the chords in the middle, or even just modulate the main, swooning synth more throughout the tune.

Thanks for the kind words man ! I spent the day working on that track and came up with this, not a definitive version , I might look into shortening the track even if it's kind of split into two parts, acid and non acid. Tell me what you think guys, really having fun with it.

Man I love every sound in this! Is it too much to ask how you made the bassline and the chords? Like what instruments did you use?

So uhh here's something I've made during the past few days. I think I like the basic structure of the arrangement. Mixing might be a bit off right now, and it doesn't even have a limiter on right now so it might be very quiet.

But uhh, any thoughts?

Thanks again for the compliments. Yeah I have been inspired by a lot more melodic stuff lately so that might have really pushed my creations.

Have you been working on much?
