the jx03 honestly felt the worst of the bunch to me. The knobs are so short, tiny and crammed together. pictures are deceiving.

Love boutique tits but no boutique instruments.WOLF! wrote:Those tits certainly aren't boutique sized

TR-08 same stereo output as TR-09
I'm gonna wait a lil more to judge but for me the best boutique serie is the se-02.
I don't care the mini moog feel-like. it has it's own character.

Tr-09, SH01 and SE02 could get you there pretty fast
Re: Roland Boutique sh101 - It's Real
think the 808 is quite cool, will try it at one point.
I'd get it over the miami or yocto

No individual outs (beyond shit USB integration that evidently won't work with other interfaces present) kills it for me, sadly.Alume wrote:think the 808 is quite cool, will try it at one point.

Yeah found that to be a bummer too. Though if the sound is spot on I'd give it a go once the second hand prices are stable.
Miami has vibe but it not the origional to my ears, the hats are too harsh. The yocto is simply to expensive.
I'd still consider the tiptop modules though as I dont need all the 808 sounds, just a few.
Re: Roland Boutique sh101 - It's Real
The small size suits me well right now. I don't have enough space at home for much gear, and I like being able to stick my Ju-06 into a backpack and take it to work with me, so I can mess around on my lunch break. I haven't had any issues with the sliders, and I'm not pint sized (6'3"). That said, it would be really nice if Roland released 49/61 key 6/8-note polyphony versions of the Ju-06, Jx-03 and Jp-08. If the price was right, maybe $599 or so, people would definitely go for them.

That would take away sales from their System-8 so dont think they would do that.The_G wrote:The small size suits me well right now. I don't know...you could make the same argument for the Tr-08 taking away from the Tr-8, Tb-03 from the Tb-3, SH-01A from the System 1, etc. They don't seem to have an qualms about doing that, and they certainly don't have an issue milking the past for money.PixelKind wrote:That would take away sales from their System-8 so dont think they would do that.The_G wrote:The small size suits me well right now. Gonna try one in the shop this weekend.
Already know the micro machines sliders are going to be a problem, but worth a go anyway.

Re: Roland Boutique sh101 - It's Real
I didn't find the 909 convincing on the kicks. It's too stable.
But yeah, sound wise they have been great.
Just sick of the fucking toytown controls, they aren't really even at basic midi resolution.

Re: Roland Boutique sh101 - It's Real
seems like the tr-08 has 2 configurable analog mono outs. 1 can be assigned to kicks and toms and the other to the rest of the sounds
