This is the only piece I enjoyed reading at xlr8r in a long time.

He's the man.
I will never forget his face when he walked out of Tolkachevs performance in Tresor.
And indeed shit was psychedelic as fuck, I emagine I had the same look om my face.

MOTE021, MOTE024, MOTE033.
BAM!
Re: XLR8R 'Ask The Experts' - Shifted
I like him, he's a lot more honest and open than most of the guys doing this professionally. But I haven't really liked any of the records he's put out in the last 2-3 years. It's just like an 808, some hiss and a few noise zips for 5 minutes. Totally static, no punch, no dynamics, nothing interesting happening... really don't get it.

Still trying to find the time to read this all the way through..

Read it there.. finally.
Appears to be a sensible person. Was pretty open & honest in there.. so you can only assume that's what's he's like in real life. Not shy to talk about emotions, fear, failure and resilience. Respect.

Yeah, if he pitched in here he would be a subsekt cunt! He has the right attitude, good outlook on things. That's all that matters really. Keep pushing it ..

I don't totally dislike his latest stuff but I'm with you. I don't get these and I wonder what he is trying to achieve with them.dubdub wrote:But I haven't really liked any of the records he's put out in the last 2-3 years. I miss these incredible details he did put into his older stuff.

Met him at a small show in Vancouver. He played one of the best vinyl sets I've heard in decades.
Super nice guy and very low key. Nobody else seemed to recognize him in the crowd, took that as an opportunity to chat him up.

Interesting he played vinyl, not enough do these days. Most footage i've seen he uses CDJ's.Huck Farper wrote:Met him at a small show in Vancouver. He played one of the best vinyl sets I've heard in decades.
