Will Frances - Jiro
Hi All, some moody tones on this one, hope someone might like it. Questions or thoughts welcome...
Thanks!
Thanks!

I dig the IDM-ish style and like what you have, I was waiting for an extra pad to come in the whole time though. That clap that appears sometimes seems to be a bit too loud and too forward in the mix.

I like this Will.
It has a real character.
Does the high treble, need to be this high and abrupt on some of those hats (compared to the rest of the elements)?
Some of them are borderline "hissy" with their high treble pokiness.
That sweet as fuck little....whatever the fuck drum it is @1:33 ties everything about the track together. It come into the middle of the track "boh!".
It's a really nice track, short and sweet.

Really like the feel of this one as it is. Yeah I agree the clap is quite loud and forward, but I'm ok with that.
Would love it to take a more sinister turn at some point with maybe a bit of saturation/overdrive, but that's probably just my personal taste.
Were you listening to a bit of Massive Attack when you wrote this one?? (which is not a bad thing, just saying it feels/sounds like that might be a bit of an influence)

Thanks for the commentss guys, good to hear thoughts, its a compliment that you mention Massive Attack, I enjoy their stuff (massively ha ha) I like alot of Aphex Twin also, I write a truck load of stuff to be honest and I never really know where it comes from at that time, I try and do 4-6 tracks a week- thats skeletons down and an arrangement, then a re visit to tweak mix if its worthy of a revisit that is.

I second the massive attack feeling here, lovely on the headphones

Man. That's nice.
I'm a bit drunk, but nothing I heard sounded out of place.
It was a little too short, which meant that it was good enough for me to wish it continued.
People on here are getting too good for me to offer any critical feedback to!
Ps, was it named after the Italian bike race?
