Dollhead - The Feelers
I managed to get this out and done tonight instead of getting some much needed sleep.
Feel free to rub yer feelers over it.
Also criticism on the over all sound very welcome, I'm not sure if my ears are gone 'funny'.

Re: Dollhead - The Feelers
To my terrible hearing the mix sounds very good. Everything sounds in it's place and clear. I can't offer more than that, as you are better at eq and mixing than I am.
The open hats are too lazy for me, there are off-set too much. Perhaps try having them more quantized.
Other than those points, I have to be honest, it's not my cup of tea at all. It's too chaotic, too dissonant, but that is just a taste issue

Cheers man yeah,
Good of you to leave feedback considering the clash of taste.
The kick and bass was directly influenced by one of your recent tracks (as hard as that might be to imagine!), but of course that's discounting the other noise.

The mixing is good, but the hats are bothering me. They don't give the track any forward motion. The sound that comes in at 1:26 is a bit too loud as well.
Also, this is some weird shit.

Interesting to see that hi hat rubbing people up the wrong way.
Thanks for the listen!

Everything sounds about right mix-wise but I have to agree that the hats sound a bit off. A more rigid beat or/and a bit of reverb might help.

Thanks for the listen.
The hi hat is not something I intent to "fix", it's quantization is precisely as intended, and I had to go out of my way to program it to sound as it does.
It might be an idea to do like a 'straight up remix' if everyone hates shuffled hi hat triggering more then Adolf Hitler but that would be much more fun seeing someone else give it a go, plus they could put their own voice into it, rather then me attempting to alter something I'm already happy with.

No issues with the hat here, it doesn't sound especially off to me. The mix sounds good in my crappy headphones. The track is not my cup of tea at all so I'm hesitant to make too many suggestions.

Re: Dollhead - The Feelers
This is absolutely bonkers.
The production and the mix sound pretty good to me on headphones.
The noise at 1:46 is both too loud and quite unpleasant.
2:44 onwards is my favourite bit. Sounds a bit Luke Slater to me which is no bad thing.
Yeah, I dunno how you've managed to take such disparate elements and make something vaguely coherent out of it to be honest. That in itself is an achievement

Thanks guys!
I enjoyed reading those.

Re: Dollhead - The Feelers
There's some pretty cool loops and sound design going on but I think you've tried to cram too many disparate sounds into one track, especially since there isn't really any blending and transitioning going on. Regardless of taste I'm sure you could make better use of your sounds through arrangement improvements and more subtle shifts/modulation to just a few select sounds. I preferred the segments of your track where it was less bonkers and you held a steady groove for a bit - when new rhythms come in my ears have to kind of calibrate what's going on to find my place in the groove again; that effect can be fun with some IDM but I don't think its easy to do.
