In-your-face vocal reverb and delay

Post by Lag »

Any tops on achieving this thing? I tried just compressing the shit out of the reverb/delay on aux but didn't really achieve the desired effect. I never get them to blend as well as they do in the tracks I really love the effect in. Here's a few examples of what I mean:

On my phone speaker it sounds like a fairly straightforward slap back echo. Presume you mean the vocals?

60 - 80ms delay, not too many repeats, nice and wet so the delay is nearly as loud as the vox part. Shouldn't be too tricky.

slap back echo with a little reverb.
It`s also how heavily compressed the vocals are, they are flat as fuck, which makes them sound really close to the speaker. They also might have pinned the reverb and delay on to the vocal with some fast acting compression.
