Rolling basslines

Bassline comes in at 3 minutes, how are these kind "rolling" basslines done? Been fucking around with arpeggiators and sidechaining but I can't get that cool feeling like the bassline is rolling around under the kick. Mostly wondering in terms of note placement etc. - not necessarily the sound design.

Pretty simple this one, it`s just a single note riff of 16th sidechained to the kick.
Actually this one might not be, at 5:20 you hear it on its own, it`s the standard techno trick of a note at step 4 and 7 every 8 steps. Then it`s sidechained. Works well with percussion too.

at 5:26 you can hear it's a saturated sinewave, try with a kick sample of 808 play with the attack decay and sustain.
If that doesn't suit just use a sinewave.
Anyway, it's super low passed filtered as fuck.
