Waldorf Blofeld/Pulse 2

Been watching a lot of videos of these. Sound nice and very keen on the physical design. Any of you lot have one or both of these? What are your thoughts/impressions?

Nearly got the pulse 2 myself. Opted for something else.
Lovely sounding synth, worth baring in mind that it is 3osc analog but up to 8 voices which can be stacked. However only 3 of those voices is analog and the rest are made up digitally. It still sounds great but waldorf don't make that completely clear.

Well they seem to be great synths but there are some batches with bad encoders.

I had a Pulse 2. Sent it back two times. Build quality was not good at all.
Knobs and Encoders were terrible set up. I did gave up on it.

Most if not all batches will eventually suffer from the encoder issue. They never fixed or acknowledged the problem. This was the only thing stopping me from buying another one after I sold the original. There are some 'fixes' online but you have to open them up. If you can find a second hand one for a really good price then it might be worth it but to buy something brand new knowing in a year or two its going to need repairs is kinda retarded. I wonder why they never addressed it? Otherwise its a pretty nice machine. I cant speak of the pulse, but I know the encoders are the same in that unit also.

I think the encoder issues were related to an early version of software and was fixed with an update. I've had a blofeld for 8 years or so and never had problems with mine.

I have a pulse 2 . great mono . good for techno . the paraphonic stuff is a nice bonus , even if digital osc it runs through the analog engine and sounds very nice . my build quality is perfect , no issues. will probably add a blofeld one day.......

Get your self a second hand Ipad Air 1, waldorf's nave app and studiomux for audio/midi connnection. its cheaper than second hand Blofeld and you have the possibility of adding great new apps for few bucks... And of course you have the blofeld/wavetable sound.

picked up one a month ago. hated it at first. something about the envelopes sounding like zippers and noise. Anyways... i put the new firmware 1.20 on it and now its exactly what I wanted. Capable of Deep monobass with tight envelopes and no clicks. Also like TvSkY said the paraphonic stuff is a nice touch.
