Damn, i got some months off subsekt and when i come back to see whats up the debate still about Barfunkel wanna do this or that or he should do things other way, its insane!

honestly, it wasn't like this was a constant topic.
I remember a few months ago it got discussed,
and now, by chance it's come up again,
but in between it was never a point of discussion I think.

Anyway Barfunkel it looks like people really like your work and want to see it progress, so ffs do a track and send to planar!

that's the news in a nutshell indeed.

Maybe I come across as being a bit rude when I said what I said,
but it comes from reading the same answers every time,
and you have to understand the point of view from the people who don't have that amount of time,
and who are still willing to invest some of our time in subsekt.
That's all really. Nothing more.

Don't worry man, i get it, i was more taking a piss about it because it was funny to me, it happened more than a few times months ago and i think thats ok, people are just arguing about diferent points of view about why people do music the way they do, maybe i just noticed when it happened because he was recording everything live like i do (if i remember correctly), so i was interested in those discussions...

And by the subsekt standards youre not being rude, youre a gentleman

sure man, I got enough on my HD
since you can submit old tracks I can submit anything,
and I still have about 3 or 4 tracks in the pipeline,
but at the moment I have no idea when I'll have some time to finish something.

You know I need enough time before I consider something properly finished, and at the moment I'm doing 50 hours/week,
and yesterday I was told I'm "promoted" to start a new part that will probably mean about 2 to 3 months of 11 hours/day,
at least until I properly start to know that part and get done with my work sooner.
At the moment I have no idea when I'll find some more time.
I'm sure it will come, but it's all about focus, and no focus on techno right now.

And also, another important thing to think about,
I really don't make music that fits the stuff most people make over here,
so as Planar said : if it's totally different from the rest, he can't possibly mix it in there. (and that is fine by me)
You gotta think about stuff like that as well.

Oh man, i feel you, i've returned to a 40 hours/week routine and its hard to keep doing music, it really slow me down from the time i was just freelancing, if i have 50+ hours/week to work ill be really out of it for a while, and yeah, my music probably doesnt fit easily in the middle of what people do here, idk...

But i think i can free up some weekend soon so i can record some stuff, when i cant do that much music i always get full of ideas, dont you? Is like im saving lots of ideas to fuck around when time comes

Anyway man, i also didnt want to work that much time to pay my bills but we do what we do because we need to, right? So its fine, its just life, you focus here to solve this, then you focus there to solve that and keep moving, but i can fully understand why you got a little bitter when people complain about not having time

Please send some music and try not to think if it will fit in or not. Listen to the second half of the last one, I'm not even sure if some of that is even techno. I'll be really happy to receive more melodic or deeper tracks, I don't want a mix of 20 reverb-rumble-bass-a-thons. 3 tracks of differing moods/styles maximises your chances. Something really strange or different can be included if it's really good and I can somehow make it work, but the caveat is that I'm not making things awkward for myself unless I can help it

it's your extremely poor mixing skills that I doubt !

100+ tracks waiting to be finished... 30% probably crap, 30% with an ok element, 30% with some potential, 10% needing some work.

The problem is this board... Every day there's something to learn, and instead of applying it to an existing project, I start a new one, another one on the pile. All I can say is that quality has gone up imo, still the finishing part is a struggle.
