Just House

Post by jordanneke »

No techno for now.

Just some old-fashioned house muzak.

All comments welcomed.

Really nice, care to tell me how did you process the hi-hats? Reminded me of Shed.

Thanks for listening.

The hats and the vocal are one 16 bar sample that I sampled from a soul/disco track that I've loved (having bought the original ;) ), then I filtered out the lows and mids, and slightly distorted the sample, and that was it. Chopped it up into different shorter samples.

Nothing brilliant for sure.

Bouncy bassline, can definitely hear that you have an eqed drum loop rolling along, not sure if its too loud at points or if the distortion type processing has introduced harmonics from the lower end of the drum loop making it more noticeable that its a loop (not that this matters). Nice typical old school vibe, stab chords, high string/pad, vocal type sample. I like it solid production skills, well balanced mix id almost like a new variation or element to come in around 4 mins, though its perfectly fine as is. It also works well as you haven't had to put in crash cymbals and sfx all over the place to lift it into the new sections.

Nice percussion, great bassline, the only thing that I might of hoped for mabye is some changes in the piano play. Already great track as it is though!

Only thing i'd change is add some more saturation across the mix to make it a bit more gritty but other than that, great job!

Yeah, well, you've really nailed this house vibe for sure.
When someone says house music, it`s this kind of sound that pops in to my head.

Mix wise there is perhaps a little too much reverb in the mix pushing the track away from the speakers and taking some of the punch away.
Low end could be a little more in your face, but mastering could deal with this so there is no glaring mix issue.

The real issue the verb with the hats, it`s pushes them a little too far back.

Really nice. If I had a house label I would release it.

Ahhh, I am always proper pleased when I see you have posted something new and this is exactly what I was hoping for.

I love this sound of yours. It sounds to accomplished and polished. Your fucking kick again man, awesomeness. I still aspire to get something even 1/4 as good as this when it comes to kicks.

It is all just really fucking good. I like the vocal (yes, I know) I like the bass. It is all fucking great.
