Re: New members say hello...
Awesome, I'm about 45 min into that Labyrinth mix and loving it. Thanks bud, I'll be in touch after 10.
Re: New members say hello...
trust me, it only slowly starts to build after the 1st hour,
I really REALLY love it when DJ's get a chance to play a set for at least 2 hours, preferably even more.
It gives them so much more freedom to truly start telling a story and take the listener on a far out trip.
It's one of my big dreams to attend the Labyrinth festival some day,
especially since I've always had a soft spot for Japan,
I was even one of the best origamists of my country 20+ years ago
but yeah, I need more cash income before I can do an expensive trip like that,
and I sure hope they haven't stopped the festival by the time I get to go there...

Donato Dozzy really is a great DJ, apart from being a great producer

I couldn't agree more with this. I find that it's especially true of techno. It really lets a skilled DJ - as you put it - tell a story, which can be far more impacting for me.I really REALLY love it when DJ's get a chance to play a set for at least 2 hours, preferably even more.

I find Dozzy's sound design (and Neel's) to be pretty much flawless.

I just saw this as the background from wetransfer...
I just had to do something with it...
I'll just leave it here

Thanks Hades!

Re: New members say hello...
I was planning to write something in Flemish, but it's all a big joke,
we go back for a while, me and Pedro.
He's allowed to wish me cancer in the mouth, if that's what he did

Re: New members say hello...
so basically :
1. they speak pretty much the same language in Italy, Portugal and Brazil
2. you need to first try to find some contagious form of cancer (haha, good luck), then cum in my mouth, and then you're all set !
sounds like a plan man !

Re: New members say hello...
Hey guys I'm based in Amsterdam. I love all sorts of music but have a passion for dark, mysterious techno with heavy base lines and hints of acid some of my fav artists are boston 168, under black helmet, woo york, yan cook, Porc. I have recently finished my Bachelor in chemistry and have decided to take a gap year. I have loved techno since I was 16 and im now 22.
I will be leaving to backpack in asia for 2 months soon and was thinking of experimenting with producing some techno while there.
My budget is low. I currently own a sony vaio laptop with an i5 processor and a reasonable amount of ram (4/8 gb?), a pair of bose sound true headphones and thats it.
what DAW would you guys recommend me to start using? i don't mind spending around 100 euros on this if neccesary. Will software alone be enough to get started or are there any portable hardware options (100-200 euro price range) which you would strongly recommend.
as i say i am a complete novice. I played piano for a couple years when i was 6/7 and was able to read notes so im sure these skills will be able to be picked up once again. I also taught myself to play the guitar for a year in my teens.
any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Re: New members say hello...
Hey and welcome. There are a couple of DAWs to choose from and they all work differently were each have their own pros and cons. I would suggest that you download some of the trails and watch a couple of tutorials on youtube and experience the differences first hand. Software alone would be enough to start with yes.
Here are the trails to some of the more common DAWs:

http://www.apple.com/logic-pro/ (Logic didn't have any demo though)
