Can`t really fault that, it`s lovely and produced nicely. Just good shit, essentially.
Re: Alume - Y'kta
Very organic sounding. The pad is maybe just a touch too subtle, could be just a bit more present and up-front, I think. You do the subtle atmospheric thing really well but I think you could take it a bit further and fit some kind of melodic line in there, maybe an arp or something.

Damn good track Alume, i cant really add much about this, lovely atmosphere
Maybe, but just maybe i think some nice field recordings buried in the mix with some ppl talking could work, is something that i can almost hear in this one

That pretty much sums it up right there.Lost to the Void wrote:Can`t really fault that, it`s lovely and produced nicely. Just good shit, essentially.
Re: Alume - Y'kta
Are those arabic drums patterns you used, this sound has a lot of life to it !
Re: Alume - Y'kta
Thanks a bunch guys, nice to hear some feedback again:)
@Amon Derrich, think i use a bongo/congo/timbale/ pack and wrote the patterns in push2. Drums are all about velocity really, placing in the grid yes, but more so velocity imo. You never hit a drum quite the same. I've recently been sampling ghost hits at lower volumes as well, think that might come in handy in the future.

Very, very nice.
Re: Alume - Y'kta
Really sweet intricate rhythms intertwining throughout this track, you really need to pay attention to catch every little sound...
One thing I thought of you could do with the pads, is to use some tremolo and/or vibrato to create some movement/swells in line with the rhythm changes.
Great little tune though.

this kind of reminds me of that Hans Teeuwen sketch where he says something along the lines of :Amon Derrich wrote:Are those arabic drums patterns you used, this sound has a lot of life to it !
"hey, it's pretty clear there actually are differences,
let's not deny that shit !
some races are just good at all kinds of rhythms and running,
and others are simply good at being the leader of the rest !"
I know what you mean man,
but yeah, couldn't help myself when reading this

Quality. I love clarity and sense of space in the production. Also musically it's quite interesting-and goes places I wasn't expecting.
