Untitled - Jordanneke

Post by jordanneke »

So,

I took on the advice given on my last track, and came up with this.

All comments welcome, good, bad or 'meh'

A bit of a Shed vibe to it, to the point of sounding a bit too much like someone trying to make a carbon copy of the Wax series.

Very nice though, if not the most original of tracks. Maybe add a little twist to it. Nothing major, just something like an unexpected chord or something might do the trick.

1:02 till 1:33 is nice man, after that it becomes a bit too dreamy for me. I'd tuck some raw crunchy mid/high-mid elements in there :P Good job on the mix though

I'll take that as a compliment. Shed is the fucking business as far as I'm concerned. Even though I didn't set out to copy him, I guess I've been listening to a lot of his 'Head High' stuff.

I most certainly didn't try to recreate the wax series, because I can't.

I know it's not the most 'wow' track you've heard, but to be honest, recently I listened to a lot of stuff, and the tracks (including on here) have been so good, that I almost gave everything up. Good in the sense of production techniques and sound design, shit that I wouldn't even manage to think of doing. So I decided to do things that are novel for me, and keep things simple. Hence it's not that innovative, but it is for me.

Glad you like it though

@TvSky and Danuzila, cheers, and sensive - at least you liked the mix!

Like it. Simple but effective.

I would prefer a bit more brightness in the top end. Either some extra elements or just more high freqs in the hats. It's an aesthetic choice, but that's what I would do.

I would no way cut the start. It is awesome. Love all the pads (shock, me liking pads?!) <3 Love the kick.

I can hear bits of Shed in there but not in a way that you have straight out copied or anything, you can’t help but be inspired but what you are listening to and I often make tracks akin to whatever I am feeling, artist wise on a a level where I don’t mean to.

Like the pace and feel, stabs, all of it.

The pad that comes in at 3:50 is awesome. Really like everything about it.

Nicely.

That sounds good to me, I quite like how it manages to be pretty chillin, but also a bit of a pounder at the same time. Its not a style that I'm particularly into, but it kept my interest, and the production is quality - thumbs up.

Thanks all for the time to listen and to comment. Happy that you lot are positive about it.

@Stacie, the strings are from the korg M1 plugin. I'm a sucker for those old-school sounds

Yeah the highs could be higher, I'll look into what I can do with the rides.

Thanks again

I like how the high-hats fade in the middle and then come back
