Airwindows — Relove

Post by Bradley1602 »

So I found Airwindows crap. Like analogue obsession.
But I changed my mind

I think that man is a godgiven person.
The gui qeuestion divides ppl. I was on the Opposition side saying airwindows is like bland looking and just wants to be "above" things with his no frontend approach.

Fastforward: his fx convinced me of his aproach. The dsp skills are so good I stopped caring about grafx and ui...

My recent views=

Mackity: heavy distortion, pleasing big sweetspot

Tape and tapefat: less control than satin by uhe but different aound. More grained. To me even more pleasing than satin.. let alone maschine tape algo...

Channel 9: the big girl/boy. Boom mofo. Sounds like a console; altough i never had one
One can change neve, api, ssl, mackie and one more I forgot. I use mackie anyway. Sounds like essential jeroen-search to me.
Like THAT 90s techno sound and skudge/efdemin.
Favourite plugin in a long time.

Tapedelay: wow like dubstation but I like it more. Different vibe but similar in execution... hope that makes senses.

I'll try to expand on this list as soon as possible guys.
I am unsure if a woman is on subsekt.

I toyed around quite a bit further with airwindows plugins:

1. Metaverb: Absolutely nice on anything low end like kicks and toms. I manage to make some nice Bassey percussion with it. I am not sure how many of you will be afraid of the approach of the plugin. I found it to be one of the more cryptic ones of air windows. But after a few sessions I found it to be very good at what it does.

2. Bassamp: Wow what a nice disto unit. Reminds me of Maschine distortion plugin. Can get really wild in a good way. Perfect for everyone looking to „Harden“ a sound.

Now what I haven't gotten on doing is using the console plugins like an ssl console in comparison to sonimus satson. That's next on my list. I know it's not much money, but if otherwise possible I don't want to shove the money for sonimus ssl emulation.

Nice, didn’t know bout drumslam.
How do you use mackity? Only on instruments or also busses?
Hhave to try. It’s like a treasure trove. I just scroll through and often find something great in the airwindows folder.

I often use Mackity as a send effect, it gives you a lot of flexibility and it seems to respond well when you send different channels to it and squash them together that way.

don't forget there's also MackEQ which is an updated version of Mackity that adds low and high shelf EQ, plus a wet/dry mix
