Ummet Ozcan - Genesis Pro synth

Post by Lost to the Void »

A new vst.
No idea who this guy is, some big trance monkey, however, he`s really thought about the user interface, how to integrate different synth architecture, and there are some extremely interesting creative possibilities with some of these features (voice control)..

It`s a cheesy video, but he lays it all out well.

1 Euro when released.
Crazy.

Yes.. watched this last night. Forgot to post it today.

Cheesy AF .. but some great ideas for sure. The alpha knob ideas useful.

Interface looks good as are the synthesis options.

Some serious thought has been put in alright & TBF.. the guy comes over as being sincere as there has been no effort to cool it up.

Best of luck to him & I'll definitely give him a euro.

Very interesting project.

And to top it off, it sounds pretty great. I'm going to order it (no brainer)

The catch: 32bit / Windows only.

And made in Synthedit from what I’ve read, so it uses pre-exisiting modules made by other makers.. Also no Mac so no go for me personally. I think with the u-he synths you could cover all of this (Hive 2 for example looks great)

So... Is synthedit shit then? No experience with it (that I know of..) , but I recall some conversations with people into synths & programming, who seemed to look down on it.

It's probably easy to hack.. hence the 1€ tag.

32bit should work in a wrapper though, right? Still mightn't be too bad.

I don’t think anything is shit per say, the sounds of his new synth sounds cool, it’s like coming up with a new Reaktor module and calling it your own ground breaking synth, supposedly Unmet has been building this since 2012 according to KVR forums

TBH these videos of the synth are humorous and fun to watch (including comments :D )...like when he says it will take a year for you to fully realize the features or that his brain is inside the software. So it is for every piece of software.

And halfway in I'm like I want to see this hardware beauty that keep getting shown in fake 3d renders.
I don't want to diss the effort but feels more like a well planned marketing infomercial.

Reminds me of performance knob on my elektron gear.

I bought it, sounds pretty good but probably won't use it considering the wrapper being required.
