Behringer Pro-1

Post by Lost to the Void »

Well, it sounds great, I used to really want a Pro-1, but that interest waned. I don`t really need this synth, but it does sound great, always liked those splashy wet chugging base sounds you can get with the Pro One.
£290, pretty crazy price.

That's very 'Yazoo' intro music lol.

It does sound good, and at that price who wouldn't want one?

Uli Behringer is becoming the scary Bill Gates/Steve Jobs figure of the synthesiser world.

it's only a matter of time until the movie comes out.

nice to see them mention Skinny Puppy as a notable user of the Pro-One (and touched on their early sound in the "80s arp" portion of the demo). i think this and their MS-20 are pretty awesome (and never had much interest in Korg's version for some reason).

Yeah, I've also always wanted a P1 but the prices have always been far too steep for realistic consideration.

This thing sounds real solid, but I really have qualms with supporting Behringer as a company and am conflicted. Maybe I'll just wait 6 months for the used market to get flooded with 'em.

Did anyone get a Bro One here?

I'm interested in trying one out 😆. Would like to hear some real talk.

I've been tempted as it sounds pretty good, but am holding back as there has been issues with gate/sync according to owners in the GS thread.

Yeah.. know all about that thread on GS. Like minds mate 😆👍

I need to look at that again. Was reading that recently (been a regular watcher for every new post). 'Think' I read that all is ok since the latest update. Been reading a fair few things.. might have got threads & synths mixed up.

Will report back.

was so close to ordering the behringer MS-101 yesterday. never owned an original, but the TAL vst is pure joy, every time I use it. I even was thinking of getting both the behringer and the new roland (chord memory, poly, presets) versions. then I saw the CAT clone, and the deepmind, and those new wavesynths that all look interesting.

but then again, have so many nice toys already. that MS-101 at 289€ is under my "better think twice" limit though. only thing is, I wanna work those sliders! How long will they hold???

1.2.8 Update in Dec 19 / Jan 20 appears to have addressed the whack envelopes & gate issue.

It does have a lovely sound to it. Can't complain at the price either. Running out of reasons not to.... although I have far too many synths at the moment.

Yeah, I'm extremely interested / tempted too. Might try & jettison a few bits & pick one up over xmas. Would be no harm to keep an eye on F.Ware developments in the meantime.

I'm strongly considering getting a Behringer XR18.. would be nice to have all plugged in & do some multichannel recording. There's bit more investigation to be done (do I even need it at all 🙃 - or is plugging things in/out sufficient. I have a patch bay, but it's limited by the amount of inputs on my SC).

Will get there in the end. Love that Pro one sound though 😭😭

Great comparison vid. He is very thorough. I 'believe' he had the latest update ( vid is 8/9 months old.. with would tie in with Dec/Jan f.ware update). Some guys on GS mentioned that they would ask him.. so worth keeping an eye on. He's 100% happy with the envelopes in this vid.

Wasn't the Pro 1 the first synth Regis bought? Must be worth a buying it for that reason alone.

What was the brand of rubber gloves he used in his early tracks. That's what I wanna know.

Well if they weren't marigolds then he didn't do it properly.
