I'm also a bit late but would likewise love to contribute. I work in music-tech and would love to get a first hand glance at how a label operates, hopefully even take that into work one day and build some cool tools for the music industry.
Happy to contribute in whatever way the more experienced folks may think useful.

I’d love to contribute, I know my tracks are not of a high enough quality for release or I would be pushing them towards labels already. I have a good critical ear though and would love to help out with selection and any other way in which I could be of assistance.

I think you contribute well to the community, it makes sense to bring you in, you don't have to contribute music (though part of the idea is to help those who aren't quite up to the level get up to the level, a nurturing environment of improvement)s7ntax wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:48 pmI’d love to contribute, I know my tracks are not of a high enough quality for release or I would be pushing them towards labels already. I can certainly submit some stuff but I just feel that my music doesn’t stand up to the high standard that I listen to by more experienced artists. Maybe this is my downfall. Always comparing my stuff to the likes of Basic Channel, James Ruskin, Regis etc even though I know those guys are setting the bar high. Anyway I’m defo in and up for the ride. Let’s see where it takes us.Lost to the Void wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:53 pmI think you contribute well to the community, it makes sense to bring you in, you don't have to contribute music (though part of the idea is to help those who aren't quite up to the level get up to the level, a nurturing environment of improvement)s7ntax wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:48 pmI’d love to contribute, I know my tracks are not of a high enough quality for release or I would be pushing them towards labels already. Good to have a high bar but also important not to be self critical to the extreme. That shit can stop you in your tracks...excuse the pun, kinda ..

Well comparing your own stuff to finished mastered tracks is never fair.
I'm a terrible self critic, and it does stop me from releasing as much as I probably could, I suffer from imposter syndrome all the time, and it's quite difficult for me to listen to my own released stuff as I tear it to pieces critically.
I don't think anyone who is doing good work doesn't get this to some degree though, at least all the people who's music I think is genuinely original and great tend to have degrees of this.
At some point you just have to hand it over and let someone else make the final decision, and then learn from that and move on (and get better as a result hopefully).
I released one of my proudest works this year, I was rarely pleased with it, at least for a little while, very very few people know it was me, and now I look back on it and I'm like "Ah man, that mix could be clearer, those kicks could be a little more defined, that mid range is a little cluttered blah blah blah"
Even though it was on a hugely respected label and the head honcho knows his shit, and the music on the label is all stuff that blows my mind, I started thinking "why did he release my stuff? It's not as good as stuff they released before, why didn't he tell me the production was bad"
I was a pain in the ass too, I think I sent 3 different final versions as I was like "no wait... I can do better mixes, don't send it for a cut yet" over a period of about 3 weeks to a month.
I still reckon I could do better mixes of that release as well......
You don't want to be that, believe me.

Re: ***Subsekt: The Label -- Invites to participate***
Please, those of you interested.
If you get your entry pass, don't feel affraid to submit music.
It's easy to be self critical to the point of losing objectivity.
But this label is here not only to release OUR music as Subsekt, but to help everyone develop to be the best artist they are capable of being.
We will ensure the standard is high, but the paramount importance is good music. If the production needs work we will help and advise and encourage you to make sure it reaches a good standard.
Don't be affraid of criticism, it is not done to destroy your soul but to help, and will come with advice.
This applies to all involved, from veterans like me to unreleased heroes to be.
Subsekt is for you, for us, a community of artists and music obsessives helping each other to improve and standing against mediocrity and commercialism.

Yes I’m in and I’ve had a poke around but just not had chance to post anything yet. I’m gonna be busy as hell the next few weeks but hopefully will get some time soon to get busy with some tracks.
@Steve awesome mate, it’s so cool of you all to support us all like this, you don’t have to but you have all contributed so much to helping lesser skilled producers like myself. Respect to you all.

I wasn't really expecting to submit any music but after reading this it's encouraged me. Maybe something like this is what a lot of need.Lost to the Void wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 6:09 pmPlease, those of you interested.

Re: ***Subsekt: The Label -- Invites to participate***
would love to participate as well!
really like the idea of an independent label, where the community can decide together.
For me its a bit the same as for synthax, i really dont feel up to contribute any music at the moment.
As winter is comming ill have more time to review, give advice, chat etc.
Id also see myself in writing concepts or texts of any sort or just do some boring work such as uploading tracks to youtube or soundcloud if that is neccessary.
