Post pics of your techno cave

Curious in what kind of spaces you guys do your dirty business.

I don't have anything to show in terms of gear except a few controllers so here are my records.

I don`t really have any recent photos.

The mastering room - Things have changed in there though, speakers have moved forward about 2 feet, monitor is now 50 inch, and the wheeled gear rack is in a different place, but not in the photo anyway. Oh and I don`t use the valve monoblocks to drive the mastering monitors any more, I use a QUAD amplification now. Kinda wish I didn`t sell those monoblocks though, they were custom made, utter beasts.

The production room live rig area. Not sure I can get a picture of the whole room, I¬ll have to see when I`m in there, as it`s in 3 areas, the live rig area, the production station where the PC and monitors and controllers are, and the instrument area where I have (too many) guitars, stupid amount of pedals, and record vocals and stuff.
The production room is still a work in progress.

None of them are techno caves though.... Music Caves, who listens to only techno?

The view from my desk. The colour of the sky and the patterns of the cloud always have a big impact on the music I'm making. I don't think I could write music in one of those studio basements with no natural light.

Urgh, I hate having windows in my production room, the blinds are never open, I only make music at night.
Less distractions.


I have lovely skylights in the mastering room though, and it faces west so I get nice sunsets over the rooftops od Laaaandan town.

Everything is currently ripped out for a full electrical rewire and security overhaul, but this was in January.

Fuckin' hell lads. That's some serious business going on there.

I got the corner of the living room, a shitty pc with the panels falling off, monitors that have cones missing, a very old korg midi keyboard, and apc that isn't plugged, external soundcard and 4 mini desktop synths. Oh and a pair of Sellout cans.

I'm out of my depth here boys

Working in here tonight, got a better photo.
Other than furniture I've done sod all to this room.
All focus has been on the mastering room and other parts of the house since we moved here.
Going to hopefully finish off the music room this autumn.
Get some steel absorber panels in and a little diffusion, nice colour changing spot arrays in the ceiling.. Luckily it's a very irregular shape which is helping, and the monitors are pin accurate.

Yeah pretty much. It's not your average shed though, very sturdy, fully insulated and weatherproof, now featuring meaty wiring and hardened security. Just need to put it back together.

They really tie the place together. Need to get some motorized spinners though. On the list...

Some nice setups here! Laptop and headphones for me. Might partly explain why I'm not in the same league as you good guys, but I've managed to have a couple of my tracks included in Planar's last couple of annual mixes, so that's enough of an achievement for me at the moment.

I don't think my issue is lack of gear, but rather a lack of ideas and originality. And just plain need to pull a finger out and stop making excuses for why I shouldn't work on my tracks more than I currently do.

I would love a techno/music shed!

I could too but I would describe it as "minimal" and Subsekt doesn't take kindly to that word!
More and more it's back to a 10 year old 13" laptop and buds, where I can fuck about aimlessly just for fun ..
