I'm rocking some Wolves in the Throne Room, which is a radical environmentalist/animal rights black metal band that also does some really good new age-y electronic music:

Electronic

Metal

I had some non-techno mates over yesterday for food and drinks in the sun. Fire and Water (the whole album) by Free got a good airing. Amazing how tastefully those boys could play considering how young they were...

And at my parents recently, I heard Sgt Peppers.... for the first time in a long time. I'd forgotten how good it is.

So yeah, more of a rediscovery of the classics for me recently, but pretty much as non-techno as it gets.

Not surprising, but nice to see some heaviness in here. Don't recognise a lot of the names so should be good fun discovering some new stuff.

As a long time Mike Patton fan (particularly the fantomas stuff), the new Dead Cross is interesting. Will need a few more listens to make up my mind but at 29 minutes for the album, that shouldn't take too long.

Somehow I missed the new Neurosis album, so that, just lots of metal, seeing as I am recording a new Sludge/Doom Metal EP I am getting my head in the right place.

Also this stunning work from Colin Stetson.

All recorded in one take, just him, a lot of mics in and on the saxophone and himself.

Utter genius, you`ve never heard anything like this.

Here's a synthwave producer moving into more industrial territory. Not entirely sure what I think of it yet, but it's certainly interesting.

Saw him this friday - he's absolutely amazing! It seems like he has some extraterrestial blowing skills - I don't know how he was able to make it through an entire concert!

Right now I'm listening this flamenco guy (wikipedia says legend) called el Camarón de la Isla - it's mindboggling how the great flamenco players are both capable of making the most weaving and beautiful melodies and keep the rhythmic complexity on a near sublime level! ...I need some spanish liquor now (what do spanish people drink besides Sangria?)
