Hahaha yeah, although you'd be surprised. Living in Aus I'm quite disconnected from more of the techno world, so I make a lot of random contacts on facebook of more well known artists - and I've been talking to, and getting feedback from, people like Ctrls, Boris from Ontal, Mental Resonance, Andy from AnD, Lag, and a bunch more. Most great techno producers are super friendly guys

I once made the mistake of asking one of my favorite ambient producers for feedback.
And I can assure you that it wasn't the feedback (or lack there of) that pissed me off, it was his attitude (= big ego) about the whole thing.

I mean, I don't get what it is that we're supposed to be super grateful when someone even wants to listen to our tracks and give feedback.
I listen to people's tracks all the time and try to give as much honest (but constructive) feedback as possible.
I get the fact that if you're some super famous guy, you don't have the time for trivial shit like that,
but when you're obviously not and you do have the time, and you don't want to do it even when someone specifically asks for it,
then you're pretty much a selfish prick if you ask me.

I quite enjoy listening to most of the tracks in the WIP topic,
you really train your ears with listening more closely to tracks,
even if they might not be your taste at all.

but yeah, ego's in the music business.
It's like for every 5 nice guys, there must be at least 1 dick,
but the dick always has to be such a total über-dick that you instantly want to start shitting in his mouth,
after eating lima beans for 4 weeks straight to show your commitment in showing him what an überdick he really is.

I like some of his stuff,
but tbh, I thought this video was extremely boring and formulaic big room techno. (no offence, just my taste)

Hahahah, good (albeit lengthy) point . But yeah I agree with most of what you're saying.
I tend to not just do the random add and feedback request now - all feedback I get/ask for from bigger or international producers will only be after I've struck up a proper and serious dialogue with them over a while, chat about music, life, random things and then maybe I'll link a track or two. Much past that stage of just aiming for producer x or y who is a big influence and messaging with "hey can you check this out and let me know what you think?". I think as you grow as a producer/artist anyway, you make those networks and global connections naturally and feedback is more of a passive, rather than an active, task. Imo anyway
