Man, if I could write a pop song, and sell out for millions......

.....I'd be still on here asking 'How do I make this kick?'

Techno producers overthink everything.

I sometimes worry that listening to the same loop over and over could cause brain damage..

At least we know for sure it's bad for ears

Yes, although it could be said that it improves the hearing. People develop more sensitive hearing with ear training and things.. Most people monitor way too loud though, me included in my earlier days and the amount people use headphones too.

I mostly think about workflow though, gear and workflow.

My mind seems to think that what gives great results, we'll see about that.

just the other day i was designing drums when i realised or felt like it must be unhealthy in some way just listening to this rhythmic loop over and over just tweaking small details gradually, i mean, its quite clear the perspective we lose just by listening to what you made the next morning...I would continue writing but avoid spending too long on a loop and keeping things way more simple.

when I was 14 years old I was folding all kinds of impossible shit following diagrams from books written in Japanese,
and I don't know Japanese at all.
Somehow I think this must be healthier for my brain (excluding my ears). :)

Often I think about how can I connect gear in the different ways to open up some new possibilities.
Often I think about sound design, effect chains before I sleep, almost jumping out of bed to test it.
Often I leave it for the morning.
Often I don't do anything about it and then I forget.
