Deepmind 12 desktop has the same features as the keyboard version which are very similar to Peak as far as I can see.
$900 instead of the Novation's $1300.
So the question is: do you want to pay $400 for three times the amount of front panel functionality.

Idk, I'm not buying either.

I just thought it was interesting they came with a poly.

but you probably mean in general, not specifically me.

Actually the Peak is pretty interesting.
True hybrid, the oscillators are pretty interesting.
Not sure about the price though.
Makes some interesting sounds.

This looks interesting. I wish I could demo synths more easily but unfortunately there is no real shop around here, just a general music store with the usual romplers (and I guess a few analog pieces like the ms 20 mini)

Tried out thendeepmind at the shop thenother day.

Quite lovely sound, build is decent too. It gave me a 60/106 kind of vibe.

Bass was pretty deep and pads pretty lush. Filter was good for a good amount of fun per patch too.

Didnt go really in depth though

Oh, what a superflexible architecture here. Looks much more diverse and capable than the Behringer approach.

Hi folks.
I just got this in the other day... and have been having a "Peak experience" :o
This is pretty much the synth of my dreams. It is fucking awesome AND epic! :P

Unfortunately this was the final straw for my poor neighbour, who ramped up the complaints and so I now have to move if I don't want to get tinnitus by using headphones all the time....

The Peak pumps out very decent bass as well as fantastic poly sounds, harsh or fuzzy, warm or frosty, you got it. Just one oscillator is often enough.

The only feature I miss is patch morphing but you can get so much movement in one patch that I haven't really thought about it... the delay is not great but the reverb is and the chorus and distortion are nice too.

This machine is in a different league to the rest of Novation's products and punches well above its weight (price point), sonically.

I would argue that the Bass Station 2 punches well above it's weight

Good luck with finding somewhere more accommodating of the Peak's output!

I would say the peak punches at exactly the weight class it should be, it's not better or worse than stuff in its price class.

The novation bass station 2 also, in its price class doesn't really punch higher than the competition.
It is however a great synth and probably a lot better than people thought it would be or do think it is, as it does look a bit plasticcy. It's certainly got a lovely phat sound.
