I've just gave the valhalla vintage demo a shot. I don't know. I've been using the old waves trueverb for some time now, and compared to this the valhalla does not offer that much depth and width. It sounds a bit more harsh, gives me not that 'fly away' feeling i'm looking for in my tracks. Maybe i have to spend a bit more.. Looks like i can't efford lexicon, but is there something inbetween?

Valhalla stuff is excellent - in every way.

I use Valhalla VintageVerb and was using pro-R while it was free to demo. But it's too $ for me to buy right now.

My favorite reverb is still the stock RV7000 from Reason. Too bad there isn't a VST/AU version.

I've turned into a massive Fab Filter Pro-R fan boy during the last weeks. Everything I need and more. A syncable pre-delay, Eq, nice visualizations, modulation capabilities, sound quality, super slick GUI etc. All in one vst.

It's price is obviously higher than Valhalla(which is superb as well) but it's worth every penny imo.

My go-to/desert island reverb.

Well, if you think of it as Room, Plate and VintageVerb rolled in one, then the price isn't so bad.

I miss it a bunch.

Just tried the pro-r 30days demo. Looks like if it won't take me 30 days to buy it. I like it a lot and yes, when thinking of buying all valhalla verbs, it's the same price for all in one. Just to argue to myself why it's good to spend money for sth more expensive.. xD

BTW, I would advise spending bit of time with the stock reverb that comes with your DAW - I bought a few verbs but have gone back to using the stock ableton verb for most stuff.

Just spend 10 - 20 mins running a a dry clap or clav sound through it and mess with the controls - any combinations that sound good, save 'em as presets!

I always do that. Tbh my favorite reverb is the stock device for Reason, the RV7000. It sounds great, is easy to edit, has a very handy gate built in and also functions as a convolution reverb (you can load your own IRs). When I use Reason, I pretty much use this and nothing else, though I also have the Rob Papen reverb in RE format and like that one as well for big ambient washes.

In VST land...I use Logic and have just never clicked with Space Designer. It's certainly robust but I can never seen to get the kinds of reverb sounds I want out of it. Pro-R just sounds so lovely, even before you start messing around with settings.

God, I'm going to have to buy it, aren't I.

What's the deal with sharing pirated/cracked versions of software on this forum? I could make some people in this thread very happy but I can imagine sharing and talking about it openly is not encouraged.
