Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??
Re: Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??
my oldest was like 1,5 years old when my mrs pointed out to me that I should be more careful with my language, since I swear a lot.Kromasome wrote: 16 month old starting saying "oh shit" the other day at the shops - quite clearly that's her mum's fault - I would never speak like that.
So for a few days I tried my best...
At some point, I had to drive to 3 different shops in 1 hour, with my daughter at the back of the car.
My mrs started calling me for the 3rd time in like 10 minutes while I was backwards parking the car,
so I go "POTVERDORIE TOCH !!!" really loud.
I thought "fuck, I sweared, and extremely loud", but at the same time I thought "haha, good thing I didn't say fuck or shit or..."
Next day, my daughter was playing with some toy house which had a door that you had to open with a key.
She couldn't get it to open and I heard her say behind my back "ottotorietoch"
Fucking great, she didn't realize the "toch" wasn't part of the curse, but she DID realize you should only swear when you are frustrated with something.
I tell you, it was one of my proudest moments of being a father, I swear !

apologizing for writing a long post now huh ?Kromasome wrote:I'll be upfront and apologise now for the length of this post.
trying to make fun with some of us here ? you fucking cunt !
a proper arrangement can really make a semi-good track into a good one in my opinion.Kromasome wrote:"needs a proper arrangement"
I don't think any of us here has the feeling he/Stace is naturally gifted at any of this.Kromasome wrote: I don't feel like I'm naturally talented at any of this, which is why I have pushed myself to work hard to try and find ways to make tracks that still sound good even without feeling like I have any decent song writing abilities (I basically experiment a lot and just try different ideas until I find an overall sound that seems to "work")
We all try out different things all the time.
A lot of times it feels a bit like throwing paint to the wall till you find something that sticks (if you even use that expression in English)

Perhaps. Unlike Arnold, who has evolved into a quite complex hybrid specimen. One might wonder where the baby detaches itself from the carrying source.

no way.
Jesus. I could not inflict that (meaning me) on a child. I would produce a tormented serial killer.

Haha - walking bloodsacks! I've used many words to describe them over the last few years, but never this.Lost to the Void wrote:Am I the only one here not plopping out walking bloodsacks in to the world?

imagine the education though !
just imagine it !
Being a parent is just wonderful : you can totally fuck up a human being from the very beginning !!
I already feel guilty for the shit I tell mine on a daily basis.
They seem to be handling ok though,
at least, at the moment...

Tank shutdown maintenance planner/scheduler at an alumina plant - thrilling stuff really!Hades wrote:btw, I meant to ask but forgot : what job do you do kromasome.

It's about a 50km drive, and I don't necessarily have to get up quite that early, but starting at my desk at 6 means I can knock off at 3.30 and be home by 4 - which means I get a little bit more time with the "walking bloodsacks" in the arvo. Also works better for car-pooling.
I also hit the snooze button a couple of times (because I've stayed up too late thrashing the living daylights out of the latest loop that I'm working on), but I generally drag myself out of bed at about 4.50.
I'm a sucker for punishment though - because even though I know the little darlings will wake me up a few times during the night, I still don't head off to bed until 10.30-11.
I'm just lucky that I work for this fairly large company, as it's quite easy to hide my poor performance due to lack of sleep and spending too much time on this forum!

So you going to share what plugin you got, or keep it as a secret weapon??Hades wrote:Normally I would take a break now, but I just got a lovely plugin this morning,
and I can't fucking wait to get home and squeeze another 2 hours in HAVING FUN !!!!
ow, and mr kromasome : your track was one of the very best in that mix !!
And thanks for the kind words on my track. I thought when I first did a quick skip through the mix to see if I made it before the tracklisting was posted that it stood out like dogs balls (in a bad way). But when I listened to the full mix, it seemed to work fairly well - which I think was more down to how well Planar mixed into and out of it.

I don't believe in all that "producer secrets" shit.
But I don't wanna rave about something if it doesn't turn out to be that great in the end.
I want to know how much it is that is just a great plugin, and how much it is that is just me running the right shit through it (or being just lucky).

Nope. I am with you. Really not arsed and have never been arsed. Nothing against it, it just isn't for me.Lost to the Void wrote:Am I the only one here not plopping out walking bloodsacks in to the world?
Re: Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??
Prototype test drive construction. I got very flexible worktimes. Normally I start at 6AM (due to pick up little Mono from school in the afternoon) so I have to get up around 5AM normally. No problem for me so far as i don't need much sleep.Hades wrote:qué ?

But i want to start at 5AM for the next couple of months as the time from 5am-6am counts as nightshift and i get double the money for that hour plus overhours. I go back to normal work time when i reach +70 hours on my time account so i have basically 40 holidays this year plus a fat bag of extra money.
I like to work as less as possible in the summertime.
Re: Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??
sounds more than logical to me,
but what is prototype test drive construction ?

Re: Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??
Good policy. I've worked hard to break my obsession with software and sounds and have learnt that I have more than enough instruments and sounds to make music for the rest of my life. But I'm interested in hearing about what other people are using (and then might take a sneaky look myself)Hades wrote:

Good idea to get a good summer in, slightly envious on that one.
My holidays are fixed to a certain degree but would love to have that option, sounds great...
