Nerds vs Musicians
Re: Nerds vs Musicians
Agree with that.
One of my early eye-openers was listening to a goa trance comp.
Just remember a cassette with a black label.
No idea which one or artist names but, from memory, it just had "goa trance" on it!
Maybe the first of that comp. Dunno. And yeah, fuckin' velvet...

it's funny, at least 12 years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to the flip side of the above track.Lost to the Void wrote:Early Trance was fucking wonderful.
I mean, stuff like this is timeless. You could drop it today and it would still work.
Simple, minimal, emotional, hypnotic, not cheesy.

Loved it ever since

They're actually doing exactly that.Lost to the Void wrote: You could drop it today and it would still work.
I saw a video a while back of Nina Kraviz playing "the house of house" to a huge crowd.
Obviously they loved it.
I've been playing tracks like "Universal Nation" in most of my DJ sets for years,
and all of a sudden, here in Belgium, it got elected as "best retro dance track" of the 90's...
uhu, guess they're finally paying some respect after all these years...
Though I'm not entirely sure whether I should cry or laugh at the taught of the masses discovering all these beauties...

man, that almost sounds as if Underworld had a go at making trance, but at the end of the 90's.gedda wrote:youtu.be/_0qljxrhaCs I love Union Jack especially this song.
