Commiserations
When one door closes, another one opens. It'll turn out ok

Re: Lost my job
Thanks, yeah I'm sure it will - right now I'm not hungover and trying to figure out what comes next.terryfalafel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 9:21 pmCommiserations

Positive side: I'll get more time for musicking
Negative: my computer is owned by my former employee, so I'll either need to hear if I can buy them from them (they are in financially a bad place, so that might be a possibility). Or I'll need to buy a new one

Haha, I've heard that's the situation from some of my former colleagues. But I'm also taking a loan these days, so I don't need any Inkasso troubles right now (+I'm quite good friends with the guy who's in charge of supplies, so hopefully I can work something out)
Re: Lost my job
I'm really sorry to hear that. It may seem really tough right now but it will improve with time. I hope you get something sorted very soon!

That sucks, even more so because it sounds like it was a surprise. Glad to see you seem to be in a more optimistic mood about it post-hangover.
Re: Lost my job
Damn, thats bad mate
I hope you can get a new job that you like soon.
Dont know how it is in your country, but i once profited from the unemployment program, they gave me money for 3 months until i started my own business.
Even though that program was a pain in the ass and they treat you like a total idiot there, still you can grab some cash there, and that might be just what is needed now

Re: Lost my job
What was your job?
Sad to hear you lost it, but it might just end up being a blessing in disguise if you find something better.

Sucks mate. Hope you find something soon.
Re: Lost my job
That sucks, hope it all gets better for you soon. I haven't lost mine but here where I live we're all back to full lockdown because of the virus, so it's fucked up as well.
Re: Lost my job
I'm seriously very moved by your responses - I checked out for a couple of weeks (mentally and here), but now I'm in a better place now
I'm currently at an Easter get-together, but I'll return in full force Monday <3

Re: Lost my job
That fucking suck man.
What's the update?
Re: Lost my job
Had to buy a new computer, and currently I'm looking for jobs (however the summer holidays are holding back a lot of job posts).
I'm in contact with a few places, and I'm in good spirit - apparently it's a lot different looking for a job with experience as opposed to the opposite
I got a bit of a slow start as there were a lot of legal back and forth between my union and my former workplace, but now I have gotten to a point, where I can actually focus on finding something, so all things considered I'm not too bad off
Re: Lost my job
I worked as a musicologist, where I was making recommendation models in a music streaming services - the job itself was rather boring, but I had very nice colleagues (that's what I'm missing the most)Lost to the Void wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 3:56 pmWhat was your job?
