Free NI Synth

Just in case anyone missed this, for Christmas NI released a mad synth called Skanner.

This thing creates some really interesting sounds. I really don't know how to discribe it, this is what NI says:
SKANNER ingeniously mixes sampler and synthesizer. The two oscillators ‘scan’ a sample; at low frequencies you get the ‘scratch’ sound of the sample being read back and forth, while at higher frequencies the dominant force is the oscillators being shaped by the sample waveform. The resulting sounds are raw, dirty and highly unpredictable – from simple sine waves to walls of noise.
If you have Reaktor 5 you can change the samples, if you don't it will run in the free Reaktor player. I have got some really interesting stuff buy resampling whilst messing around with the Morpher.

Its the biz when you put in your own sample. Its the best granular thing that I've played with in Reaktor. Very easy to use. It actually makes you wanna use it - and you feel like you can control it. The other ones I've used have been too random - for me.

But thats probably as much down to the new GUI in Reaktor. If anyone is using it for the 1st time.. dont forget to hit between the A and B tabs.. cos there are more controls on the B tab.
