Recommend a Club

Post by surface »

Everyone bangs on about Berghain but if you hit Berlin, make sure to drop in to Maria am Ostbahnhoff.
A great spot when there's a proper techno night on.
Had the pleasure of catching a live set from The Black Dog the first night I visited.

I see they've changed the name since I was over last, but hopefully it's still got the same vibe.
Good times :)

So where's the best clubs at? ..

I went to Tresor in 2002 when we went over to Berlin for the Love Parade. It is a fantastic club, the downstairs room was intense - I remember there being a 50cm think iron door, then a room with very low ceiling and lots of people. Full on, but brilliant.

Hasn't it moved location venue now?

Amnesia in Ibiza is probably my favourite club. It was the first proper club I went to. I saw Sven vath playing proper techno there in the 90's and was blown away!

Fabric in London is the best place I have been to in the uk. 8-)

Saw something a few weeks ago about clubs in Berlin which was not suitable for kids.

I had to have a bloody shower after watching it haha

I wasnt aware that theres a real sex club scene there. Is there really? Its put me off going cos its meant to be a normal part of every club there. People going at it all over the place isnt my idea of a normal night out. I dont want to go out and get slobbered over (or worse) and have wierdos left right and centre. Just not my cup of tea whatsoever. Berghain sounds like my type of place music wise.. but the people. If its true, I'll prefer to give it a miss.

I do not want to know what you were search for when you found this  . LOL

I've been to Berlin quite a few times to go clubbing and the only place I have seen anything is the KitKat club, and that was no worse than the torture gardens. That said I haven't exactly done an exhaustive search of all the dark corners in the clubs I have been to.

My wife is after coming home after reading an article in The Times about these filthy clubs - lol

She was saying that there is a "smell of sex" in the downstairs areas of some of these clubs. Mentioned the kit kat or whatever its called. Theres a few Pics of the people in them. Holy fcuk - 50 year old men, wearing vests and no pants, giving it loads out on the dance floor.

LOL - what the fk?!?!

Yeah Core2, really nice.

The club at the start is Watergate, great club.

Yeah, that really made me want to go there.

That's Tresor at the start, where the guy runs down the tunnel.
Watergate is a little bit of a tourist trap if you ask me, but worth checking out at the same time for the "studio54" lighting system!

Looks like a shot of hardwax records in there too ..
