To be fair, the last 1/3 of the show was decent. All the lights etc..

The UK gives the world so much meaningful culture, that it seemed to cheapen it by literally fast forwarding through it all like that. Thats my opinion anyway. The opening film in particular featured the typical 21st century approach: Design it for people with ADHD. Broadcasting genius Trevor Nelson was doing the commentary.

Credit where credits due, they pulled it back at end. Best bit was the sportspeople coming out. They were really enjoying themselves. The true focus.

Bah humbug you guys. That was brilliant. It did a great job of reminding us what we've given, as a people, to the world and to ourselves. Made me proud to be British and that's an achievement in itself.

i thought it was pretty good, though it was a bit all over the shop and definitely could have done without the dizzee bonkers extravaganza, but kept me well entertained even if for a lot of it i was in a "what the fucks goin on" kinda state.

Might actually explain some of the decisions behind some of the ideas too haha

Well its gonna be pretty hard to avoid any of the sports over the next 2 weeks, I can understand it being on BBC1, and Three but the 24 hour coverage on the news as well is just over the top, I have resorted this morning to watching Russia today to see what else is going on in the world

As for the actual sport - I like the indoor cycling and will watch the mens 100m final as i did last time

It is a real shame the stadiums are 1/4 empty and they should have had some sort of plan to sort that out as a lot of local people in the east End have had to putup with building works etc for the past 5 years - at least they could have given the tickets away to local schools, NHS staff public workers etc
