Genre tips anyone?

Post by grandheronbleu »

Helleauw

I'm looking for tracks that are kinda similar to this http://www.decks.de/t/sounds_sequences-shining/c6d-6d

Anyone got any tips?

Deep, techno-ish tracks with a lot of melody. No big kicks etc.

love Heron

Dub Techno... try the Echo Cord label.

Or Maurizio/Basic Channel for more classical stuff.

If we're talking about Dub Techno, I like all the classic Basic Channel/M-Serie/Rhythm & Sound/Chain Reaction stuff only. The pioneers...
After that, that genre became the repetition of stereotypes.

Yagya also makes some nice, ambient-ish dub techno.

Thanks for all the responses :)

I know the genre is dub techno, and I know the classix, still thanks for the response. But not all of them have got such deep basses. I was really looking specifically for that.

Then again I have a question. Since you guys agree on the point that the Dub Techno of today is just a repetition of the guys in the 90s such as Basic Channel, what would you say would be a good replacement?
For me I think it's just a pioneer of nowadays parts Deep House? I mean where did the techno go in this part of the music scene?

Shed's always a good response. Particularly if someone questions the sound quality of ITB production. Shed's at the top of the game, fidelity-wise, when it comes to modern techno and house, and he's all ITB.

Hah, my Soundcloud's probably had something like a 100 tracks last year. I just keep deleting the worst, keeping the most decent ones. I'm a bit manic when it comes to making music. I should learn to focus a bit more. My music is about capturing the emotion and energy of the moment though, it's difficult to keep that up AND fine tune them to perfection.

Edit: I'm quite a happy go lucky kind of person in person, but I'm easily agitated into heated Internet arguments. I should learn to stay zen online too.

I literally can't think of any other reason to make music other than that.

I can think of several. Maybe not good reasons, but reasons anyway.
