When you listen to the foundation of this track it's incredibly simple, couple of moogy bass notes and a little guitar lick, but soooo funky and infectious.

Got this on cd:

I thought it was about time I gave some of my money to these guys. They're an influence for what I (try to) do and one should show support imo.

Donato Dozzy doing a 170(?) bpm mix

Stravinsky died 50 years ago this day. The Rite of Spring is one of my favourite classical pieces. The weather is as quirky as the music: hail, snow, rain, sun and heavy gusts of wind over here.

Cool. I listen to a lot of classical music on the radio when I'm out. Don't know what most / if any of it is.. but I always enjoy it.
Incredible really how much of it is buried somewhere deep in my mind. I enjoy getting surprised by what I hear. There can be major differences between a version done by one orchestra compared to another. It's pretty inspiring for rhythms, motifs & call / response stuff.

Until the 20th century music, one can only guess what the composer really had in mind. Only crude descriptions of tempo and feel, what about groove/swing? The room pieces were intended to be played in were important (you can say that about techno as well).
I've attended quite a few orchestral rehearsals for my job, and it always amazes me how a conductor points out what he wants to hear, and how fast these professional musicians pick this up. "ok, let's take measure 187, trombones a bit more staccato, and strings come in a bit softer... yes that's good. now measure 201, more powerful everyone..."

This is also a favourite of mine, and it's one of those albums I dig up once in a while and play it over and over for a few days. Not every three months anymore, maybe every two years. A tribute to Jack Johnson is a nice change. Together with Sketches of Spain, those are my three favourite Miles Davis albums.

My favorite "mainstream" dance act. Epitomizes the 90 for me.

Yeah it's been a while, put the album on in the car while driving about and a) forgot how good some of this stuff is, and b) there's not really a duff track on the album. (although the one with the Betty Boo bassline is teetering on the edge)

I love to listen old rock, mainly Dire Straits, Queen, Eagles etc. Love the sound and mood of that era. I have learned a lot production and mix wise listening to their interviews that you can incorporate in electronic music. If im not in the mood for rock then i like to listen to old school boom bap tracks and sometimes even dnb/jungle.
